I'm starting to wonder if buying adena online has simply become an accepted part of the game in lineage. I can no longer name a single alliance on lionna who's leaders do not tolerate it, even if they might claim otherwise. I've practically become an outcast in my own clan for viciously opposing the practice. Outside the clan there's few I can rely on who are as adamant in their opposition to it.
I mean, face it, this is a game. Among the ladder of which Darfur or Iraq might be at the top of, buying adena in lineage ranks somewhere around my car breaking down in terms of the scale of the problem. Games should really be fun, not so much about enforcing rules, especially if those rules are not popular among the players. Let's face it, NCSoft can't stop most adena sales. But even more important, most players do not care if the people they play with have purchased adena.
The current situation is creating unnecessary unhappiness. Its time for NCSoft to consider allowing adena sales through its own company. Exactly how is up for discussion certainly. Perhaps it could be a mediated exchange, where NCSoft can credit people with play time for selling adena to other players who are then charged with their next month's bill. NCSoft would lose no revenue, and no additional money would be thrown into the game. And, industrious players could play for free. That's just an example, I'm sure others have better ideas.
Its time for some honesty here. The majority of players (perhaps even all) I know do not want adena sales to be illegal. Or at least the fact they've bought adena themselves or readily play with those that have suggests this. Let's be done with the illusion we maintain, and play the game we have, not the game as it was supposed to be.

We may however not attack or so on thees who do, we do however kick out members in our clan/alliance who is found cheating like this.
Yeah, I don't condone that activity either. I'm under no illusions; I'm sure it's happened even in my own clan, but I don't condone it and wouldn't tolerate it if I became aware of it.
the prices of items at this point or way to high cz of the farmers and botting community. Therefor people are urged to buy adena online. I'm not saying we should let this happen. I'm only sayong this has become a part of the game. Saving money is not a part of the game no more. The game is saving in real life to pay in game.
has it occurred to anyone that SOME PEOPLE don't use online credit cards for security sake?
i would rather pay cash for everything or debit my way through life rather than risk loosing everything i own because of a 12 year old hacker that cracked L2NA databases; it has happened before.
Given that you've heard from clan leaders in my alliance already, I'll toss my hat in.
Anyone in my clan found to be violating EULA is immediately kicked and reported to the GMs. We have had to do this twice since I started back in Prelude.
I will not ever condone or allow the purchasing of adena, to the point where I will actively take a stand against it. So now you know of one alliance on Lionna that maintains its stance.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em is a bad policy to have :)
Besides if ncsoft just made adena out of thin air, it would cause major inflation. The farmers that do it now take it out of the game in the form of adena/drops from mobs, raid bosses, etc. It's natural if not accelerated, but it's not "magic".

Yea, sure. Make it ok to do so. More people for me to laugh at and call losers for not even being able to play a video game properly. But, hey, thats just me.
