Ok.... I'm no longer the Noobiest of the noobs.... I think I will just qualify myself as "Noobiest" :)

Well I got the game installed and patched while at work yesterday and when I got home started up a new character on Lionna. For those interested it was a dark elf fighter. Well as expected but still somewhat annoying there was no-one around... and I do me no-one. So I started off getting familiar with the NPC's around and learning the basics of finding information. The Quest feature with the world map is wonderful.... You can really plan getting them. I also like the gather unlimited number of items quests.

Now this is leading to the question. One of these unlimited quests is for 6 - 11 and I can easily see myself outleving it really quickly. I started it and it will continue to reward for turning in the slave collars as long as I'm hunting the imps. However what happens when I hit 12 and I still haven't pressed "Stop Searching" on Kristin? Does it autoclose or can I keep on collecting colors as long as I want regardless of level? So this is really a question of game mechanics. Once a quest is started is it possible for leveling to close it out? Also if I out-level a quest will it not be available anymore?

AND---- Is it even worth going through these quests? or should I just aim for the grind so that I can get loot and items and get into the populated areas.

On a side note. Sheesh CoX really did spoil me in terms of travel. I feel like a slug moving about.
Nothing will really happen, when you outlevel the quest.

There are quests for better weapon, at DE village is around 11 or 12 lvl. From my point of view, yes, it's profitable to do all the quests. Fungus quest is quite nice too. Collect 10 sacs and get 3k adena.

Remember about the newbie buffs since 8 lvl.
if you out lvl a quest it usually means you outlvl the mobs
when a mob goes blue it starts getting an xp and drop penalty, most of the time this wont effect quest drop rate but if you are spamming SS its prolly not worth sticking around
the level bracket isnt that strict, only the first number counts... meaning, you cant get that particular quest until you're level 6 but you can keep doing it all the way up to 80 if you really really want to :p the bracket 6-11 just identifies the level of the monster's you'll be hunting for it.

as for whether to do it or not, you can always abort quests after you get them. if you're going to hunt imps anyway, you may as well collect the bounty on them untill you outgrow em :p once you get to 16-ish theres a similar quest in Gludin town which has a followup quest in the 20s, you can make a decent bit of extra profits from em

Edit - here (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/quest.html) you can see the starter quests and thier rewards, might save you a little time :)
Yah already found that one Amys. I've been scouring the site and googleing and the like on early level information. And I've already skimmed through the first 6 pages of the Player Guide Forums and come across a couple of guides on which quests to take and why. I think I'm going to tone my expectations back and just focus on questing and the like in all the starter towns. I'll use that page there as a guide to what to do and where to go. Looks like its a solo MMO for a while.
once you get to your late teens there starts to be people... should be pretty easy to find groups once you're close to 30, on Devianne the more populated low level town is Dion i would imagine it's the same there :p if you're really looking for some social interaction you can try asking for an Academy there. most 4+ clans will accept any active lowbie into thier academy in the interest of getting thier clan points up.
Good Idea Amys.... I think I will put the call out in the Lionna Server Forum
