Guys, i just started playing about 3 weeks now. I have a question. I bought D armor and a D sword weapn. What Crystal count does have to do with D equipment. Do I need crystals to take full advantage of the armor. What Crystal count has to do with D amor :) ?
with the crystalls you can see the "real" worth of an item of your server too. You will see how many crystalls a dwarf will get after crushing the item.
Many classes need crystalls to level. First of all the summoners. IF you use cubics you will need them too.
All C items (and higher) need crystalls, if you buy them in the shop or if you craft them too.
Often it is cheaper to buy an D item in a shop and let it crystallise from a dwarf (a dwarf you can trust ;) ). So you will come to a crystall price of 635a not like many greedy sellers who want 680a for them (ok, here speaks the summoner out of my soul).
Also, if you can not sell a droped item, just let it crystallise and sell the crystalls.
It is also a common practice to "crunch" armor and sometimes weapon drops for crystals as well. Once in a while you will get a full drop, but many times it is low end equipment. Low grade armor is crunched most of the time. Weapons will sometimes be sold but low end weapons can sometimes be hard to sell. This too will get crunched as often they will be of more value to you as crystals. Why?
One thing that no one here has mentioned yet is that crystals ( D grade through S grade) are also used to craft one of the most important items in the game. Shots! Soul shots and Spirit shots require crystals of the same grade for crafting. For instance, a D-grade crystal along with 3 soul ores (purchase in store) will craft 156 D grade soul shots. Spirit shots require crystals and spirit ore.
Also, if you can not sell a droped item, just let it crystallise and sell the crystalls.
How do you "let it crystallize"? And can you do this with any dropped items (scrolls, jewelry, etc..) or just weapons and armor?
I believe the poster meant to type "get it crystalized" This can be done by an artisan dwarf of the appropriate level. It can also be done by attempting to over enchant the item until it fails and turns to crystals. This is an expensive way to do it. So, hopefully, you know someone that you can trust that has a dwarf that can crunch items for you. Otherwise you may have to create one yourself! One thing you can attempt to do. Some dwarves carry a supply of various crystals on them. You may be able to find one that will trade you the crystals for the item. Just make sure that you know the crystal count of the item yourself so you don't get screwed, and PLEASE! don't click ok on that trade until you look and make sure that what they are giving you are crystals and not soul ore instead!
Guys What Crystal count has to do with D amor :) ?
also when exchanging weapons through the catacomb blacksmith exchanged weapon needs to have equivlant (same) crystal value.
This has caused problems for a few dual weilders since crystal values differ.
I'm actually not sure about armour. may have been hasty on the post. :D I guess it should be possible for it to be exchanged
You can also quickly calculate deals by item's crystal value. Let's say you see Zubei tunic for 2 mil in sell shop. You use formula price/crystal count and get number like 9650 adena. That's the value of crystal you would get, buying that piece of armor. Considering B crystals are for 12k on my server - 9650 is good price to buy that item, then crush it to crystals and sell raw crystals for 12k for example.
This does not apply to set completing items and weapons mostly.
