New to Lineage and Adena Question

Can you give me a ballpark figure of how much adena I should strive for for each grade in the game (other than the obvious "as much as you can")?

Right now I'm a lvl 28 Scout and was wondering if the amount I have is good for a first time player or if I should be higher adena wise to where I'm at. I'll hold out on stating how much I have until I receive a few ball park responses.

Weird question, I know....but I'm really curious of your opinions.

Thx!
You're looking for a figure that doesn't exist....

This is a game driven by adena, you need as much as you can earn.
I know Splatter that I need as much as I can get...I was just looking at my current count and wondering if I'm doing ok so far with this being my main.

If I was at lvl 20 and had only 3k in the bank...I would think that that would be a low amount come time to go to D grade equipment...I would think to myself that I need to really get the cash flow coming in. Yet if I was lvl 20 and I had say 5 mil in the bank, I would think that I was doing ok. I don't know though...am I making sense?

Thanks for replying.
I just view adena as a drug.....

No matter how much you have it's never enough. When i had one million in the bank, i was over joyed. Now i need two, three, ten, twenty million.

But if your looking to how much a lvl 20 needs to get the best of the best. I'd say 5 million should set you up nice.
for lvl 28, you should probably have around 700-900k, although with the outrageous prices for materials nowadays, you might be able to get to 1.3-1.4m if you sold all your mats.
A lot of people think they should have top equipment as soon as they hit the next grade. If you're one of these, you don't have enough adena, nor will you ever.

Hopefully, one has more than 3k adena at level 20. If you concentrate more on leveling instead of adena-making, then you're always going to be short on cash. It's actually quite easy to amass tons of money in this game, but it does take an effort and may distract you from leveling.

5m adena for a first character hitting level 20 is a lot. Definitely doable though, if you're willing to put in the effort.
In some ways it is a hard question because every server is different.

However, It's been a long time since I thought of buying lower grade gear but let me see if I can give a little bit of guidance.

C grade: Weapon between 16 and 20 Million maybe? I know C grade composit armor used to be about 2 million. then add gloves, etc. Maybe 35 million for C? Actually with jewels, up that a bit.

A C grade Demon Staff in Prelude was a little over 16 million. I bought mine (after prelude) for about 22 million I think. However, things have gone down.

B grade. 60 or 70 million maybe? Slightly more?

A grade. Ugh. About 120 Million for Weapon. Helmet was going for 80 million but that might have come down. Can't remember what I paid for the other stuff. A has fluctuated a bit.

I can't even think about S grade. Currently I have all the jewels (no enchants) except for the earrings. That's about it.

Best thing to do is to plan out what you want (use the Library on this site) and then go shopping in Giran to see what prices are. That will help a little.

Play the market to get money. Buy low/sell high. Learn the prices. You don't have to learn all of them. I usually look for hot selling items, find the deal on only those items and then charge a bit more.

You can also use the manor system. People swear by it. I could never make it work for me.
I'm not even sure if this question can be answerred in any meaningful way. Equipment cost can vary a great deal depending on the class of your toon. At level 28 I would hope that you are already in clan with an academy so that you could get the clan armor, which is actually pretty good armor and not that expensive. Especially when you consider that it's a complete set. I recall that there should also be a quest that you can do that will get you a servicable D grade weapon as well. I suggest that you not spend money on equipment, or spend as little as possible, and save for C grade. C grade is where your equipment starts to become extremely important. It is as that point that your equipment will be truely based on your class.

Edit

Your C grade weapon is most likely going to cost you anywhere from 7-15 million. Rule of thumb! Weapon before armor! Get your weapon first. Armor can wait especially if you have decent to good D grade armor. Get in parties in C grade where there will be a healer to heal you if your taking damage because of the armor. It's great to have good armor but if your weapon sucks people are not going to want to party with you as much since you will not be performing as well as you should damage wise, if your a damage class. Same goes for healer buffers really, having the correct weapon C grade and above is very important!
3k adena with L20 is very little.
I had about 200k-300k at L20 and it was not enough ;)
with L30 about 800k and L35 enough to ugrade to highest weapon from Giran shop.
Like Spaltter wrote. You will never have enough adena if you play legitimately.
Thx for the replies everyone....very helpful.
Easiest way to figure it is try to strive for about top armor and weapon by half way through that grade so by lvl 30 you would have a top D weapon and manticore armor. If you are able to manor effectively then the adena will come.

If you are a healer, you'd better start with Divine Set, then +4 WIT tattoo, and only then a weapon.
to get "good" equipment you will need for each grade:
D) 2-5m
C)8-15m
B)30-60
A)150++

if you have this kind of money, you would have decent/good equipment. ofc, once you get top B equipment, most classes dont realy need to upgrade anymore, unless you realy want to. If you use manor system a lot, you shoul not have any problem getting at least the smaller amount of money of the two of each grade. (except Agrade. I very much doubt you can do 150m++ with manoring only, in 61 levels. well, I could be wrong.)

That sounds about right.
Although for C grade Id say you need at least 15mil
That's incredibly optimistic...

Good equipment is top grade in my book. On Lionna:

D) 4-6m (assuming you get free oath armour)
C) 12-20m (8-15 mil will buy you a 'decent' weapon at most)
B) 60-90 (40odd for the weapon alone)
A) 300+ (no SA can hardly be called 'good')
yea well, I wasent talking about top equipment.

what you need 4-6m for if you get free armor? elven jewelry set, 500k. top Dgrade wep, 3m... im not talking about very top equipment AND OE weapons

and Bgrade, well. for 60m he will get a kris/bop, domm light set, and BO jewelry.

and 300m+ for Agrade will give you TOP everything. at least on bartz. you get Agrade wep WITH SA for about 80m now (saw a dragonslayer health today for 80m) and armor sets go for 100m or less. maj jewelry, like 35m if you get a deal on a full set. so 300m would actualy get you some OE weapon to add.

for 150m, you will get low Agrade wep, Agrade armor set, and you can keep your BO jewelry. that will cost you less then 150m

ofc its different on all servers :/
On Lionna A helms are 90-140m, SA 12 are around 115m, Best A wearpons are 60-90m. Tallum PA, for example is around 55m, but it's an expencive one. Most other body armors are 20-30m. Gloves/boots go for 6-25m as well..
Don't forget there is no need to have cash to equip fully. For example you decide to get Drake leather for C armor: you buy parts for let's say 20k/piece, some basic materials you have from hunting, some you get from manor. What you do not have you can set a buy shop overnight. That way armor that would cost you 2 mil buying as a whole, will cost you let's say 400k.

sound slike the prices on barts a feew months ago. lvl11/12 crystals are extremely cheap now (~40m), so are helmets (majestic helmet 30 mil o.O) and top Aweps about 55-65m.

I guess knowing what server the OP playing on would be nice to know :)
If you make at least 25 - 30% more money than you spend each level on average, then you are doing well.
I recently made an academy TH from scratch and now with 100% manoring, spamming DSS and potions at lvl 34 I have collected 4.5M pure cash.

I wanna see if it is doable to get 10M by lvl 40 (no I wont delvl) to get myself CG armour and jewelry with it.

Hope it gives you an idea.
for example, before C5, imperial set was around 500m (unsealed) and now it's around 1b (sealed) !! S weapons without SA are around 200m (except drac bow : 1b).
These prices are on Lionna.
