Archer + Dagger Classes: Who is > Who?

Player Questions Started Last reply 4 posts
I've recently hit 37 and I'm struggling to figure out which 2nd class transfer to take, I've asked a while back and I believed I had the right answer that being DE Assassin and then --> Phantom Ranger but I've already started to feel that it is just 'point, click, run to body, loot'. I had played dagger until 32 where I picked up the bow for the first time, I enjoyed both classes immensely, however I feel that the Dark Elf classes of bow and even the dagger class has skills that are comparably inferior to the other relative races.

Also... the ranger class just seems a overpowered at the moment, nothing can come close and things drop dead before they come near.. hell you could fight naked with a beast of a bow and be fine, but at the same time, it makes the game easier which is a good thing at the same time.

So my question is this, what dagger class ranks the best to worst and what bow class ranks the best to worst? (Please justify an answer if you could take the time out, a comment like 'Abyss Walker's Sting ability is absolutely bullocks' would be welcome.)

For example:
Bow -
1. Hawkeye 2. Phantom Ranger 3. Silver Ranger
Dagger -
1. Abyss Walker 2. Treasure Hunter 3. Plainswalker
(Justification)

Hopefully if there is wide range of opinions I could play the right Dark Elf class for me today and maybe sub another race's class should I ever hit 75.

Thanks,
Cryptis (Playing on Sieghardt)
Well, the #1 archer is the HE. Very high HP, Str, so good, Consistent damage over time. HE's have very slow run speed, and low evasion. So basically, give that HE a bow and heavy armor and he's good to tank/shoot. PR's are high damage when the Crit but are very fragile. Out of the 3 rangers, SR's crit the most amount of times, they also evade the most and run the fastest, but their Crit numbers are no where near as high as PR's or HE's.

I myself have an SR, and I like doing minor crit hits here and there, as opposed to huge crits once in a while. In PvP, I lost a lot of fights to HE's(i hate them for their high HP #'s >< )

Never played a Dagger myself, but I have duoed with a AW, and same thing, when they Crit, it hurts like hell. I've seen a 2x hp mob loose 60-70% HP in one hit by an AW. (this is with SE buffs, ofcourse).
You have the Bows down pat: HE/PR/SR
I would make a change in daggers tho: TH/AW/PW

I don't have any of these characters, so I can't make a statement for any of them. I have, however, played with a lot of people, and that is what they tell me in terms of PvP/PvE. HE gets a lot of passice crit skills, which I know SR does not, and I'm not sure about the PR skillset. PR has highest STR of all the archers, SR has highest DEX, and HE has most balance between the two.

Same things apply to daggers as they do to archers.

One other thing, because of the way archers have been played up in C5, all archers will have an advantage in PvE and PvP because of stacked crit buffs, and the fact that - CON rarely hurts in PvP, even tho it should IMO.
Do a search, we discuss this 5 times each month lol

SR and HE crit about the same, HE and PR has crit damage passives that add no damage at all so it's a non-factor (only level 2), so STOP using that as an argument!

HE is the powerhouse of the archers, under certain conditions. Can take more of a beating, can play more with stats. As long as speed isn't an issue the HE comes out on top, most likely. Elven archers do ALOT better when kiting is needed, that means against any tank/melee class PR and SR has alot better chance of winning that the HE. Yes, the HE is THAT slow compared to them, HE also doesn't get a slow until level 77.

Daggers... TH/AW>PW.. but don't piss too much on the PW for it's low damage, he will also rip you apart given half a chance.
