3rd Night Down... YAY!

Ok, so last night I actually felt like I accomplished something. The shots made a humoungous difference and right now I have something like 14000 of them with the newbie extras and the quest rewards. Also I crested 20k.... which went right out the door for armor upgrades. but hey now I look nicer. I finished up the quest that gave you the eldritch dagger and that sky rocketed my damage. It allowed me to finish up the blacksmith quest to get the sword. once the eldritch dagger was in use I seemed to be getting alot more experience, adena and alot less downtime. Thank you all for your help in understanding this stuff. I also used the newbie buffs as well and that helped alot.

SkyGrunthor is now lvl 12 and 80% to 13. I'm very happy with my progress so far.

So I'm running around in the Dark-Elf village and I notice about a dozen cookie cutter dwarfs.... all wearing the same armor using chakras (again with the chakras, Am I missing something? is this the uber newbie weapon or something?) And they are all acting kinda funny. They aren't pausing between stops and seem to all follow the same path. I get out to the swamplands SW of DEV and their are MORE of these cookie cutter dwarfs just mowing down bats and zombies. I think there must of been 20 or more between the village and the swamplands. Oh did I mention that they all had these weird names like japdole and fyysuy and uehdyga. Basically nonsense names. And as I popped in this morning real quick they where all still there! (as of 15 minutes ago)

So I take it this is my first experience with that [censored] program or whatever its called. Now I've been reading about and they say that this is not a program sanctioned by NCSoft and the like. But what do you do about them (if anything). Is it aprropriate to do a petition or is the rule of thumb live and let live? I didn't see how they were harming me and in fact they saved my butt a couple of times by killing a bat or two that aggroed me as I got to close. BUT what is the secondary effects of this activity?

Ok on to the personal character question. I'm getting fat! My figure is slim and my breasts are round and I have a derrierre to die for but all these things hanging out of my pockets and pant legs and packs like christmas trees, broadsword blades, ornaments, echo crystals, bandages, etc... they are making me feel like I had 3 Turkey dinners in a row with a topping of an ice-cream cake! So I don't think I should sell some of this stuff in the NPC store (or should I?) and I do notice the warehouses in the towns. But what is the best coarse of action here? I'm somewhat of an item horder by nature as I just collect and collect and don't do anything with em unless I need cash.
Collect all common mats, when you're fat like santa with them, go to Giran and sell. Check the shops there to find out a decent price to sell. A price between the sell shops and the buy shops should let you sell the mats fast, depending on how greedy or how much time you want to spend on it.

I only use my warehouse for stuff that I don't use often. That nice monocle, some crystals and other stuff. Materials i keep on me and transfer to my Giran pet (sellshop character).

Is it appropriate to do a petition or is the rule of thumb live and let live?

What i do is to petition a hand full of names, then just go about my way leveling.

Being still low level..... Every trip to town, just dump off the common mats into your warehouse. That character can access them from any warehouse then.
I just got to lvl 20 elven knight and i made really good money making those general christmas trees and selling them in giran, sold 3 for 80k each.
killing those dwarves will only do YOU harm. they have likely been up and down in levels more than a pornstar at a movie shoot.

they ... well its hard to say just what they do. some of them are part of illegal organisations selling ingame currency over the internet for real cash, some just use them to get the ingame currency and dont bother selling it.

in any case congratulations on level 12!

what you should sell to the store: anything with the label as follows: pattern, piece, part, blade, shaft, fragment, material, design.

now i will cite some examples for you ... braodsword blade, helmet material, stocking pattern, bow shaft, shield fragments ...

all the items like that that you get before level 52 arent really all that valuable to players with only ONE exception: brigandine helmet designs. those are big money.

any materials that you get like stems, steel, varnish and others, go to the town of giran and sit down to sell. for how much ? well there isnt usually a fixed price on materials as supply and demand are never the same tow days in a row; so gather a price list usingt he following method:

go to the store (any npc store) and check how much the store will purchase each type of material for. this is called "base price". now go to some other players stores and see how much the same materials are selling for. most of the time you will not find stores with materials like stems because they arent really used in high level armor or weapons. common materials that sell quite high are oriharukon, steel, varnish, iron ore, silver, stone of purity, crafted leather, and mithril ore.

set your shop price just below other players shops but above the base price at LEAST twofold (thats at least 2x the base price but below other shops prices.)

let simmer for as long as you can tolerate, hopefully youll sell completely out within a night. most players leave stores open overnight so that they waste no time that could be spent killing mobs instead. this also benefits players in other timezones because they play while you sleep :)

if youre lucky, you will get what we call a Full Drop. thses full drops arent all that common and are unreliable to predict. but they occur comparitively frequently at low levels. likely a piece of armor or earring or other jewellery have dropped for you in the past while killing goblins ... this is the most basic form of full drop and just doesnt happen very frequently to anyone higher level than 20. yesterday night i was hunting with clan mates in antharas lair and we got a black ore ring (B grade) full drop. thats a 2million dollar drop but hasnt happened (and wont happen again likely) to any of us in the group since we started out playing the game. so don't set your heart on getting full drops. they happen but don't expect it.

that said, many clans will LOVE to have a new player join the ranks in their academy! you can earn some fresh armor for your level 20+ experience, and make some great friends at the same time!

they could sell for 10x that. i sold 6 for 1m each overnight last night.
OK I disagree with Spudnik on one point. There are plenty of key mats that drop for D and C grade that are worth keeping and trrying to sell to other players. I agree Brig helm designs are in high demand but also brig boot and glove parts are also good sellers for some reason. Then you also have parts for all those set completers that are craft only.

the top key-mat sellers are usually craft-only parts of top sets... any key mat thats lebelled Brigandine, Elven Mithril or Manticore probably has a chance of selling eventally(usually find em between 30-45) also parts labeled Karmian, Composite, Full plate, Theca or Plated Leather in C grade(usually find these between 40-50-ish levels). weapon bits however, are rarely used now because most people purchase 2nd best from NPCs in giran or heine and upgrade them at the BS of mammon for less costs than the materials to craft them.

occasionally lesser pieces can be sold for very low prices to artisans/warsmiths, but that usually takes longer than it's worth and it's easier to just sell them to an NPC
Dang... I feel like a fool for selling about 30 irons, stems and such now to the npc before it occured to me. And I'm finding I'm getting at least 1 full drop by how you describe it every 45 minutes to an our and a half..... my first night I got 4 in 4 hours. (2 magic rings, 2 armor items). and the christmas tree that I just made I will turn around and sell tonight then.
Their is a quests you can do in the orc land that has mats as a reward... When you get around level 25 seek it out.
Splatter I'm not seeing your Xp bar move..... I think something is broken :p

Yeah, I know. I'm doing the 3rd class quests. Not a lot of xp for a lot of work. I'm at the point where I'm working on getting "lvl 2" of the Alliance with Ketra Orcs. I have to get 200 Soldier Badges and 100 Captain badges. But I don't get the badges with every kill. I can solo the mobs and get a bitmore than 20,000 xp per kill but it takes many shots to take them down. So slow xp going.

Then at some point I have to kill 700 mobs in order to spawn some sort of Quest monster...

So slowly but slowly...

Close but not quite. NPC's buy back at 1/2 base price. Thus a NPC will buy Iron Ore at 100a, but the game uses 200a as the 'base value' for all other calculations. (Manor, crafting, certain quest rewards, etc.) The price other players will buy at is often higher than that. This price however, fluctuates overtime as need for materials changes with supply.

Also, do not underestimate the selling power of those materials that are not "in demand". You may not see many shops that "buy" those materials (Stem, thread, mithril ore, etc) but they *will* sell. You probably will not be able to sell them for more than the 'base price', but you can still make a profit that way even if it takes a little longer to sell. (I never price below base ...if it doesn't sell at that price, I'm better off using it myself.)
