Being a newbie Paladin reaching B grade in 2 or 3 hours (my expertise goes for Spell Howlers during the last 2 years...) I crafted a Doom set because it seemed obvious for me (or its not?) and a Sword of Damascus.
Now I have doubts to choose between Focus or Critical Damage SA to apply to the SoD and I would welcome your advice (Haste seems a bit unworthy to me...).
Anyway, I welcome all advice about armour set + SoD SA + Tattoos + Jewelry for a Paladin.
Well Doom is probably the most tanking skill set out there, so certainly for a Paladin its a good choice.
Black Ore Jewelry will get you into A grade without much troubles, I refrain from Tattoo advice cause I never played a tank, it's not after my liking.
For the Sword of Damascus, as Death Whisper effect goes down in Interlude, you might wanna try CD for extra damage. Focus is overal the first choice of 99% of the community, but I think when you are most of the time buffed, CD is better then Focus in the long run.
Focus is the way to go. Crit damage just applies the damage from a P attack of 262 everytime you crit. It doesnt get increased by crit damage multipliers or usage of shots.
Doom is a very very good pally set :) Ive got a +5/+6 set for my TK as I prefer the set bonus over the A grade bonuses :)
Want to level fast? Damascus Focus, BW heavy and +5 STR.. then go at it! :) You're still lowbie, no need for a pure tank set until you get like 70+ or tank RBs alot.

Crt damage SA blows for swords, I've compared +3 DLE w/ crt damage and +3 DLE w/ HP - barely any damage difference on crits if you are buffed and use soulshots. SA gets applied after buffs and it's not affected by soulshots, absolutely terrible compared to focus. It's only decent for daggers and pretty good for backstab skill since it's formula got chanced in C5, not so great for other stabs.
