Anyone know what quest is involved with these things? They appear to be stepping stones in some quest but I can't seem to find out which one.

There is no quest involved, there are stones that drop from various mobs in ToI and DVC and you can use them with the vortexes to teleport inside ToI. Blue to go to floor 5, Red for floor 10 and Green to go to floor 1.

True got 2 Greens and 1 Red now, they are in my warehouse collecting dust.

If you talk to the vortex you will notice that there is a quest link there. If you click on the link, it tells you that either "you are not carrying out your quest or you don't meet the criteria". This is the response you get from "stepping stones" on quests that you are not part of. So I have to wonder what quest makes you go talk to the vortex's?

Every NPC has a quest tab, but most of them are never used. Gatekeepers, WH managers, every fighter-mystic skill learner, random NPC's they all have quest tabs.

The stones use to be pretty valuable, like red, when there were no ports whatsoever up to TOI 10. That was back in the day when it took ages for a party to get up there (C2) Then they added all the ports to the dawn priest so it was so easy on winning weeks to get there.

Now I think the ports are gone again, but almost no one goes there anyway because the quest is horrible, there are other ways to get reciepes and catas are better.

Well at the least you don't face wartags or trainers in ToI, but I do run into them in any AG Catacomb-Necro
