I am informing players of Kain server of a given player of unscrupluous actions/behaviors. This player and his alt are as follows mrmunchies69, alt is batman69, christylighting, and chucknorris69.
As a buyer you are warned that if you purchase from this individual you are risking your armor, weapons or any valuable items. So I am posting a "BUYER BEWARE" on this player so that any player who needs a specific item is not scammed by this unscrupulous player. I have been informed he has done it before to others from investigating this matter on his actions and it is obvious he has a pattern of scamming. SO I am informing all honest players please do not purchase from this player. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!. :mad:
yeah its unfortunate that posts like these get deleted. far be it for a honest person like me helping out a friend who got scammed, Ncsoft GM's do nothing about the issue despite a witness and a screenshot. let alone being KOs' enabled by the clan leader he/she confronted about the transgression by the player of the clan. so not only do you have a CLan who condones such behavior but you got Ncsoft GM's not doing the responsible thing of investigating the matter properly. to as long as a few people can see this, I feel its worth the short time its on about this named individual so no one else gets scammed.
dude lost full +4 doom, and a dama +4 with focus. if thats not str8 trifling i dont know what is. i think its safe to say between me and this player and others who are scammed should pk him into oblivion.
This is a political player driven game. Names should definitely be posted. Since NC soft says to take care of these type of situations yourself because they won't do anything about it, to me posting names is taking care of it yourself.
Good job, all people that try to scam people should have their names posted so they can get what they deserve.

there is ways around to scam a person with how this game is limited in its shop system. easily doable if u know how to fluke the system into setting up prices.
but twisted your reply is like sayin a person who got robbed by gunpoint shouldnt of been there in the first place. its not the victims fault. the focus of the blame should set on the person at fault. the scammer taking advantage of the system.

Correct. Posts that accuse others of cheating are removed. Posts that document legal play (and scamming is 'legal,' even though it is also unethical) are not removed.
So, documenting players and their scams is okay on the forums. It is, in fact, one way to 'take care of it in-game.'
However, this post does not give us any information on what scam was used. Until that is done, no 'shame' can be attached to the 'name.'

Gunpoint is force. This is like giving some dude off the street your wallet when he asks then him running away
Exactly. No one can FORCE you into anything in this game.
So unless you found a trick to force someone to drag their weapon/items from inventory, place it in a trade window, and click accept.. no one FORCED you to do anything.
Call it whatever you like but it's still a valid game tactic. I've had it tried on me at least 4 times but my rule is I don't give my weapon to anyone, not ever and that solves that little scam.
it is not a valid game tactic. nothing valid in it. but its obvious i wont be getting through to you. the fact that you are validating mrmunchies behaviors is merely letting him know he can do it again and again. so Ill leave it at that with you. and Allow people to know and form their "own conclusion" that this person is up to no good and to be weary of puchasing anything from his main, and alts.
She's not validating what he's done. The point she's making is that until NCSoft deems it an exploit or illegal it's fine to use. Name spoofing is not new in this game.. it's been around since day 1.
thats a shame that has to be the case. but this is NCSOFT we are talking about. NCSoft has been known to do nothing for extended periods of time. they never put their foot down at the right times, and the people who are the victims are the ones who get crucified by NCSoft themselves. but once again this is NCsoft we are talking about. I myself never been scammed. thankfully I never will cause personally Im not a trusting person. i check and recheck everything to make sure its valid. but its a shame that this type of psuedo-exploit is prevalent in the game and being used without consequence. real shame i tell yea. I like the game but certain things really urk me about the mechanics and why they are in the game at all as they hold no benefit to no one other than the one exploiting for his or her own personal gain at the expense of another player. either way i think NCsoft should disable the ability to spoof names cause its in of itself a exploit. but if NCSOft condones it, makes you wonder what else they condone and what else they got going in the "backroom" behind closed doors.
I've said it a billion times and I'll say it again, it's a hardcore game. Sooner you accept that and be on guard for everything the better off you'll be.
sorry ellie there is nothing hardcore about finding flaws in a game design. its smart, ill give it that, but not hardcore, when you do word association ellie make sure those words are attached with proper meaning, k.
if you said this game is hardcore as in, there is poltical strif, clans fighting, grind is hard as hell, the gear is expensive. yeah id agree with ya. nothing really hardcore about finding a flaw in the design of a game. simple as that.
I'm sorry to hear about that, I have encountered that player myself on more than one occasion. He has never tried to scam me, but has annoyed me by offering ridiculous items in trade for various items of mine.
Dartanius, get thee to the clan website and forums, and / or vent.
I recommend not handing out anything again, unless you know them in RL. And go Pk him if it makes you feel better, but don't feel bad if you lose some gear. Then you can start another post "Darwin is a scammer, he killed me and took my stuff!!!"
When you find a circle formed by a few adenas arround a seller, he (she) is scammer. I make circles sometimes in Giran, Kain. In most cases they try to sell D-cry for 2897a each instead of 650a. Please pay attention and don't pickup adenas:)
