Help with SE macros !!

Player Questions Started Last reply 19 posts
I was wondering about the macros people use for the SE.

It seems that experienced players have a macros for say a mystic and a different one for like a archer, and another for a melee char.

Can someone please post up some macros or info which works best for character classes?
for starters, dont give VR to ranged attackers i.e. archers and mages. Dont give empower to any non mage class. Mage classes dont need Focus,Guidance etc. One macro for mages, one for melee and one for archers.
I use an AF macro, buffing macros (like described above) and that's about it.

I don't heal with macros. Too slow.
My dopey dwarf friend swears that emp helps him spoil and makes me emp him every buff round?

Any reason to believe he is not full of krap?

thx.

:P
My SE macros would be:

Basics (buffs everyone gets)
1 Windwalk
2 Shield
3 Mental Aegis
4 Resist Wind

Cancel after 2 as necessary

Damage Dealer
1 Might
2 Guidance
3 Focus
4 Death Whisper
5 VR

Cancel after Deathwhisper if the DD is an archer

Casters
1 Empower
2 Concentration
3 Wild Magic

Cancel after empower if you're only giving it to a Dark Elf for hex, after concentration for healers.

I'm sure I've missed something though.

I find class based macros often insufficient, and prefer the combination of combining from multiple macros to get the proper buffs lined up according to class.
I have tested the empower buff for my BH I lvl with when I play my SE and for some reason it works, spoil lands more often, wild magic also seems to help.

KoE is really all you need.

LOL, Spoil is affected by nothing but the lvl of your spoil and the mob's lvl.

As SE I have 3 macro's just for buffing archers, melees-summons, nukers/healers. If there is another buffer in party I use my buff bar to adjust what's needed.
Spoil is a physical skill. You can test it by activating a spiritshot, spoiling, and trying to activate another one. You can't, thus it's physical. You can make a case for focus, but not for empower.

As a side note, I have both WS & BH. My WS definately seems to spoil better with a focus weapon.

I still want KoE...
Spoil is definitely a skill, not a spell. Silence a dwarf and see if (s)he can spoil :p
And I tried that on my little BH ... never got any better spoil rate on white mobs when being level 42. When I dinged 43 and learned new level of spoil, I was able to spoil every mob.

As for macros: I do not use buff macros, happened very often that they got interrupted or just skipped buff-two when they got introduced ... so I buff manually. Maybe they fixed it since then.

I usually use autofollow macros
/target <name>
/target <name>
or /target %party1 when it's party

also bsps battle heal
/useshortcut 2 2
/useskill battleheal

combine those 2 macros together for fast heal and immediate autofolow.

Also good macro is
/useshortcut 2 2
/target <name>
/assist
/useskill Dryad Root
for some fast root when playing on nuker and need to root additional mob.

I also use
/useskill recharge
/delay 5
/useskill recharge
/delay 5
...
for recharge macro. Replace the delay number for seconds you need to wait for skill cooldown, it differs when using different buffs, dances, acumen weapon, armor etc.
Thanks everyone for the helpful info. Up till now I always just buffed everything I have on everyone.

Although I am just 37 so far. But it does get a bit costly in a higher group.

Hope this thread helped some others too. Feel free to keep adding info and opinions as I will check this thread for a while.

a yea i also only give out kisses to certain people. :o
I wanted to ask about VR. Someone said that VR on an archer is a nono. But it seems ok. I presume it is cause an archer hits less often then a melee so the use of the skill is less effective.

VR doesn't work on an archer
It is noted in the description = doesnt work on skill or ranged attack...

What is so hard to understand in there?
Also note that attack speed by itself isn't the determining factor in whether or not VR helps you.

Damage inflicted without the use of active skills or bows (which depends on patk, atk speed, crit rate and crit damage multipliers) translates straight into VR recovery, it's a percentage base - i.e. it makes no difference if you hit twice for 500 or once for 1000.
