Polling?

Anyone kno any good places to pole 17-25 on an orc. I can't go in Cats yet, soo any other good places? i am currently 17.
if i have to choose between fighting mobs 1 at a time or 4 at a time, i will chose 4 at a time every time. but no newbie vr buffs. fighting 4 mobs with no vr = dead. and just so you know, there is a max (i think 4) number of mobs you can hit if you don't have pole mastery
you can pole only 4 mobs with a human knight... and for me, hit 4 mobs is not polling :p
but it would be faster to lvl. am i right?
soo um what about OP?
Go to the house outside AC and train the Ol Mahums, easy and fast.
even at lvl 17??
the ones outside AC are good for 17 i guess just make sure theyre white, and check how long it takes to kill one first

even at lvl 17??

Yes, you have newbie VR4 and if you spam some pots you'll do fine.

Mobs are only lvl 19 anyway.
oh lol. not a newbie. :) thanks tho. :)

I ain't a newbie either, still my lowbies get newbie buffs from lvl 8 to 25...

Since the start of C5 not anymore. You get shots, newbie buffs, GK tokens, death penalty scrolls and all that jazz.

You can do 1 > 20 in a day now.
OMG!!! ...i didn't know that!! uggh...
see, you are a newbie?
LII Has gotten just that friendly to new chars now ... And frankly I'm glad cause now there is no more reason to not pole, grind or die hard Cata's LOL even on lower chars :)

And they last one hour even ^^ (the newbie buffs I mean :))
The ol' mahums outside the abandoned camp around the house are "recruits" for the most part.
They die pretty easily to pole arms and aoe spells.
The house provides a lot of areas for corners too.

Anything green or white that will aggro is just fine. Generally get a few to follow and you're golden.

You could go to frozen waterfall area right in orcland and get some werewolves to chase you and pole there, too. I think the bears are aggro too--the careful way to do it is to grab two mobs and kill them...check survivability...grab 3 mobs and kill them...check how you did....grab 4 mobs and so on.

Without skills poles are a tough weapon to solo! They are wildly inaccurate and you will take a mini whipping everytime you pull a group.
Even with skills it's sometimes amazing to me how 5 mobs in a line are getting hit, 3 of them fall, 1 is 'almost dead' and the one closest to you has full hp's left! (lol).

I was given a +7 glaive for my 24 artisan by my first clan (loaned I should say) and used it all the way to lvl 40 without another weapon.
It wasn't easy but it was fun and a learning experience!

In a party I think the polearm w/ a toon that has pole skills is one of the most fun things to do at lower levels. I love it when all 4, 5, or 6 mobs fall at the same time and all that 'stuff' is laying on the ground!

One last thing--manuever is your friend!
Personally, I would not try poling before level 20. Rather, just find a place where the mobs spawn fast in a small area (assumimg you have a melee toon). Also, I have heard of people in my own clan putting top ng gear on a newbie toon and leveling uber quick at AC. (Something like 50% in 15 minutes at level 15.)
