Summoners and duals

I am assuming that summoners suffer from the penalty for using dual swords as a "mage" in C5? I have heard, but could not find it in the notes.
That was only a rumor before c5 came out. The only nerf they get is with Polearms and bow and I believe its -30% casting speed and -12 accuracy.
thanks, I had heard that it was Bows and duals. Just wanted to make sure.
summoners dont have the best accuracy tho, so duals may not be the best weapon for damagedealing.
Considering blunts is no good damage at all and the only weapon with better accurezy then blunt, I say go duals or sword with focus.

Daggers is even fine believe it or not :P

Anyhow there is just an accurezy penelty on bows and spears.
Daggers ftw, if you ever have buffs.

Otherwise duals.

Just on a little note: On a mystic, using duals have maybe 1, 2% more PAtk*AtkSpeed than using a dagger... but the dagger can get well in excess of twice the crit rate. ;] Worth thinking about.
my warlock is only 54 but he hits for 350-450 in apostate (full buffed, rarely critts ofc)
Dagger would prolly be best DD wep ever, dagger focus, its just summoners already waste so much money on cubics, crystals for summon, shots, beastshots...having a dagger will just drain your money even faster..but if you dont care, I bet a DS/kris/Bo with focus would own!
If you have buffs, nothing beats a focused dagger on a dual.

In fact, even if you don't have buffs, duals only have approximately 2% more raw damage outputs than daggers - before even taking into consideration crits.

...... and twice the amout of misses
You cant really go and give all the positive things about a dagger and forget the one major down side..... accuracy drops. Its something you do have to take into consideration.

Anyways, Ill have to get test this out myself. You cant really accuratly predict the crit rate and miss rate. And it varies with what lvl mob your trying to kill.

What Im going to test a few times
-Tallum heavy with +9 Kris buffed/unbuffed
-Tallum heavy wth +9 Tsu*Sls buffed/unbuffed
-Majestic heavy with +9 Kris buffed/unbuffed
-Majestic heavy wth +9 Tsu*Sls buffed/unbuffed

Im going to see how long it takes me to take down my Bfs dorf (about my level).
Obviously less time = higher dps.

If anyone sees any problem with my method, let me know before I do deceide to test this out. Note: no I cant change the weapon ++, thats what I and my bf have, thats what Im gonna test it with.

Each critical, buffed, outweighs two or three whiffs. And even so, the criticals are considerably more frequent than misses.

There are some rumours about crit rate being impacted by PDef which can neither be denied nor confirmed at the moment, so it would be better to just flat out test this on a mob.

If I take the dorfs armor off wouldnt it do the same thing? Or buffing him with sheild and greater sheild?

The reason why I wanted to test this out on my bfs dorf in the arena is that he wont fight back. And since he has massive amouts of hp, the test time frame will be sufficiently long to have somewhat accurate results.
Mobs have low but not no PAtk - if you have a spare set of robes or something similar, that should do to simulate mob PDef.

What grade would be best? I can get my hands on a robe of any grade.
Maline, if I understand what you're saying, would Warcryers be better off with a dagger(s) when soloing and using their party buffs on self? As opposed to duals, which I understand is a very common set-up for Warcryers?
focus dagger ftw

at higer lvls u wont do much damage compared to ur summon and most stop using ss by then

faster attack speed = more cubic triggering in theory

daggers is awesome for wc too.. in pve
I use daggers on both my prophet and my EE. Neither of them have +STR yet, but I am very happy - they both crit about half as hard as a buffed TH with highly OEd weaponry - pretty decent to me.

If you always have focus, DW and Guidance, there is no way that duals will outdamage a dagger over time.

Shot costs/weight are the only downside.
at higer lvls shots will be a waste

u will do 100dmg and ur summon will do 1k+
100 damage is quite likely a sore understatement.

But yes, the summon definitely does more damage.

Duals hit twice per attack round. Doesn't it mean more cubic triggering (should be two times higher compared to 2h sword)?
