Hiya board..
Well, I'm pretty new, been playing a week now. Started as a human fighter, went to 16 but didn't like the look or move speed. I transferred his gear over to a DE fighter, who is now lev 18.

Now the Guide says I should go to Gludio at 20 for my class transference. I visited Gludio for a quick check but they've no noob guide buffing there, and the lizardmen just outside of town are like..no way.

My char has bronze armor and a longsword (i've almost saved enough for a falchion). I think I'll stay put in DE village to 20, but would like some advice from there.

is the Palus Knight test difficult? Any advice on completing it? And where is a good place to hunt for adenas/xp/sps at 20, assuming solo?

Lastly, what do you guys/gals advise me on my armor and wpn? How do I get the next higher stuff, D grade?

thanks...
There IS a Noob Buffer in Gludio and Gludin. You just missed him.

Palus Knight test is one of the easiest quests I've done so far I think.

Equipment wise, a 2 handed sword outdamages a 1 hand sword, especially at your lvl. Look for a Clan who's recruiting for an Academy, cause if they take you, they might hook you up with a D grade armor if you're willing to stay with the academy till lvl 40.
different players do their approach to 1st class change differently.

I generally go to lvl 19 right in the starter area and after like 40% of lvl 19 complete I begin the quest.

Don't bother with buying the falchion. Finish the quest with the long sword and complete lvl 18 and at least part of 19 with the long sword.

You'll get a clan opportunity at some point in there (academy) and they will likely be able to help a bit with some things...one of them may even have a falchion laying around to loan you till you can get a d-sword.

As mentioned, palus knight quest is simple. Check stratics website (can I mention them here?) for quest guides.
Good luck.
My advice is to stay in starter areas up to lvl 20 - 25, except for doing your 1st class transfer quest. The starter areas are just easier, and they all have mobs good through low 20s. Then maybe go to Dion, which is the first really populated town, and try to find a good clan while you're grinding in nearby areas. There are plenty of good mid-20s mobs right outside Dion. (As with Gludin and Gludio, watch out for reds that like to pick on lowbies.)
Thanks guys, especially for Stratic's site. It walked me through the Palus quests nicely. It was a little nerve racking to run so far from home, but the monsters weren't as tough as I feared. I've already been invited into the Furions clan too. But for now, I'll sit still and just save up some adenas for some better weapons.

It might be worth it to mention that this is just the start of your running (with the promise of more running to come) caused by L2 quests.
