Sweet, it's pretty rare to see some real emergencies worthy of a /gm (ie /911).
The issue is when you try to login a char on Kain, you'll get a message box with a . (only a dot) as the subject and a . (only a dot) as an explanation. You click ok and you are booted from the game.
Pretty weird. All my chars are affected so I reboot and try another server. I can log in fine. So I go back and try Kain chars again. Nope, same error message. So I log back into Hinde to report it.
/gm dot dot fatal crash on all Kain chars.
In under 5 minutes I get an answer telling me to give as much detail as possible when I petition a bug. They ask me to re-petition. Ok, sure. So I repetition and guess what ? You must keep your petition under 256 characters.
ROFL how much detail can you give in 256 chars ???
So they took like 10 minutes and gave me a canned response telling me they knew about it and were working on it. The sad thing is, they auto close the petition.
I have the same issue with all my characters on the Bartz server...
I did notice, a few minutes before it happened, that we had a small server hiccup where we lagged for about half a minute. Not sure if that had anything to do with it.
I initially thought that just one of mu characters was bugged, so when I tried to log in another character to make a ticket, I noticed that one was bugged as well.
Hmm, I guess we have to wait for an official response.
This started on Franz last night (read: at like 5 am this morning EST). I woke up, apparently it was fixed on Franz and spread to Kain, now it's on bartz!
Happened to me on Erica after I logged in 2 weeks from my last login, I just logged out and decided to try later.
As a purely preventive measure, I am suggesting all of you who have experienced this to change your passwords for you both your playNC and your game account.
It's a maintenance feature you should do to protect your account at all times. So why not do it today ?
Not trying to alarm anyone, just suggesting a safe position.
But when I see this kind of anomaly and people report occurences on other servers, and we get no official word about this, it is considered a minor threat.
The pattern looks more like a bad programing error (stupid error message, like ERROR : You must enter an integer between 0 and 1).
But the dot dot is a pirate signature. So your responsibility is towards your account. Who cares what really happened. You change your passwords, and you protect yourself.
Let them handle their problems, protect your account. That's your only job.
Who wants to take bets on how long it will take to get an offical response about this? The thing is it's ether get a report from mistryl on this or get nothing at all....
That has been my one complaint on this, if mistryl isn't around someone else needs to step up to the plate.
I mean, i'd sure like to know if my account just got breached.
But we all know that ONLY Mistryl is allowed to post about subjects like this, that NO one else in the support team is allowed to post on such things. :)
Could be the same reason we have to go to other websites (presnt company excluded(non NC posters are great for info and answers they post)) to get info about game related stuff.
It seems to just be true of the Lineage 2 forums; I haven't experienced this sort of thing on the City of Heroes/City of Villains Forums. In fact, the Community Coordinator over there would probably start investigating on his own if it interfered with him being able to play. :)
Um... goto the technical forums. DM, I'm dissapointed in you :P
The post(s) in the technical discussion area don't have any official response either.
The fact that they are NOT talking about it is the scarry part. They can't say the problem doesn't exist because of all the different reports. Not saying anything is kind of like saying : We don't know what the heck is going on.
And your first line of support sending folks to the boards is criminal if the customer cannot find official information here.
You're being sarcastic, right? Too bad I don't know how to read Korean, or I'd be able to tell how accurate your statement is by reading the Korean L2 boards. ;)
No, I am not being sarcastic. It's just an observation from having played a few MMOGs that originated in Korea. It's just how things work. Top-down.
In other words, it will be done when it will be done, don't bugger the mods either. They can't don anything besides pointing out the problem and hoping it gets resolved.

And thats all we asked..... I mean one question i had, was my account compromised? Support said no, but i only found that out by making a support ticket.
Where was the support team on the messageboard to address this spreading issue? No where.....
