paladin +str or + dex.

i was going through the tanker guide. one of the thread recommended paladin should have + 4 dex and + 4 con.

Since paladin will be using shield, you evasion will be affected if you use one.

so, how useful + dex is for paladin.

I thought +str will be better?

Thanks.
Evasion increase from DEX, even at 5, is not much more then 5 evasion, hardly a difference for a heavy armoured tank char.

Imo, if you wanna tweak something on a Paladin, its STR or CON, maybe WIT even.
DEX affects much more than just evasion and it is not suggested for tanks as a way to boost evasion. If I remember right, it affects your block rate among other things, so higher dex= more shield blocks.

Could remember wrong too tho, a bit old subject for me, covered in spider webs and all already.
Forget about evasion, low base dex, -6 evasion from majesty, -8 evasion from shield and no evasion passives, it's totally useless for human tanks (unless you are pulling trains to power level someone on ~40 levels lower mobs). I'm gonna take a guess that you are still leveling up your paladin, if so maximize damage output. Get both +str and +dex and focus sword even if you get clan/friends groups all the time, just use some hp weapon for tanking raids and you'll be fine. I wouldn't do -str +dex +con build unless you are lv 77+.

As I have siad before in another DA thread, do not listen to peope that tell you not to get a +4 dex tat. Your attack speed and crit rate are much more beneficial than the +4 str.
I did +STR -DEX and +CON -DEX and I'm loving it.
I am +5 Con tat setup, but I'm an RB tank so it makes sence.
+DEX = more attack speed, more shield block, more critical attacks, more running speed...
+CON = more hit in your face without dying, more breath, more weight, less stun
-STR = less damage... But DA are already so weak that it won't really do the difference !
+str +dex for not tanking
+dex +con for tanking
