40 TK here looking for a good solo grinding spot, preferably without having to use SS since i am poor and around 3M in debt =)
Post 40 going without SS, a partner or a pet (My dwarves like to use wind hatchlings) is going to be rough. That said here are the spots I've found fairly 'easy' to solo....just don't expect to maximise your XP in these areas. (Low aggro/social)
1)Death Pass - You should be able to squeeze out a couple more levels from the Wyrms, Guardian Basiliks and Road Scavengers pretty easy. I did these up through the first level of 'blue' on the Wyrms before moving on with my spoiler before.
2)Hardin's Academy - (North end of Death Pass) Windsus and Grandis. (Just ignore the Fettered Souls). These mobs are well spread out which is both good (Low chances of adds) and bad (Lots of running to mobs often.) Additionally, the Grandis seem to hit pretty hard for their level. It's an option however, if you want to manor for Giran area.
3)Sea of Spores - Giant Fungus, Giant Monster Eyes and Dire Wyrms along the front edge are good. Plus there is a quest from Oren you can do that has the Giant Eyes dropping Warehouse Medals. Also you could go a bit deeper and kill Rotting Golems/Trees, Trisalim Spiders/Tarantulas and Spore Zombies. Just watch out for Orfen, and as long as you stay on the other side of the 'Sea' from her you'll be fine.
4)Hunters Valley - Karul Bugbears, Tamlin Orcs/Archers up through Kronbe Spiders, Lakin and Weird Drakes. The Bugbears and Lakin stun, but give very good XP if you can take them. Also you can get coins and medals in this area as well.
5)Crater of Ivory Tower - Manashen Gargoyles, Enchanted Monster Eyes, Enchanted Iron/Stone Golems, Shackles and Enchanted Gargoyles. Only the Shackles/Enchanted Monster Eyes are aggro, and mobs are only social with themselves. The Gargoyles do stun however.
6)Field of Whispers - Nos, Farhite, Dailon, Crokians and Lageos/Pageos groups. This area can get you at least a couple of levels starting at 40. Pretty much everything except the Lageos/Pageos pairs are social, but there is enough room that it is easy to avoid most social aggro. The Nos and Farhite are 2x HP, but the Farhites aren't terribly strong and the Nos are fairly managable despite their +Crit modifiers. Dailons are fairly weak as well desite being 'archer' mobs due to their slow attack speed and shield blocking.
7)Forest of Mirrors - There is one 'area' just north of the Catacomb of the Witch and on the other side of the road that is pretty good. Taik Orcs, Warriors and Archers. Social mobs, but only the warriors are aggro and they are spread out enough in this area to keep adds manageable. The rest of the 'Forest of Mirrors' area is overall bad for solo however. There might be one or two higher level spots near the Harits, but I tend to go elsewhere when I reach those levels.
8) Ivory Tower & Forest of Outlaws/Evil Spirits - Probably more for when you are a bit higher level, but good solo areas. Start with the Formor and Tarlk Bugbears and work your way up as you level to the Tarlk Basiliks, Hunter Gargoyles and Oel Mahum (Warriors). This can get you up through B grade and near A grade!
You'll probably be hunting lots of Green mobs from here on out if your not spamming SS and soloing often...and although it will probably take a fair amount more cash to do a basic equip and a bit more work to manage aggro/adds, I would suggest looking into aquiring a pet to help you do damage. As a Temple Knight your damage will be low enough as it is, so soloing can be painful without shots. (And sometimes even with! If my OL is any indication.) I would look into either a Wolf or a Wind hatchling.
The Wolf will give you Maximum added damage, but it is very weak to magic and can't take too many hits. The Wind does less damage but can take quite a few more hits. You can equip the wolf to max and the Hatch to decent levels for around 2M each. (Going another 2M 'in the hole' might be worth the extra damage output these two pets can give however.) The wolf also starts at a MUCH lower level and will take a bit more work to level up. It will level pretty fast however if you max it's weapon out. Although it's hit rate on mobs more than 10 levels above it's own drops pretty drastically. This is pretty much the same for either pet though.
The hardest part will be leveling them up to near your level if you use them since your already above their level. (Damage pets work best if they are slightly above your level.) Moreso for the Wolf than the Wind. You can however aquire both for almost nothing but some running around and blue mob killing via quests.
You will spend a fair amount of cash on Pet food as they level up, but I've found that this is a lot less than you would spend on Shots for the same XP. (Damage pets take XP and food, so your actual adena income vs XP gained is actually very good versus solo w/shots.) It's a trade off either way though, as your kill speed increases your level speed will go down as well.
