Official Poll: Favorite Event of 2006

Happy New Year! It's time to look back and reflect on the events of the past year (http://www.lineage2.com/news/event.html). Which event stands out in your mind as your favorite? Vote in the poll and let us know! Please reply in this thread to let us know why you picked your favorites -- and why others didn't make your list.

All of the events i enjoyed except "Battle Tournament". Because only the top of the top could be in the event instead of everyone like all the other events.

But if i had to pick something it would be "From Beyond" and "Tis the Season", but i voted for "From Beyond". Because when it was all over i had something that i could hold onto. Scrolls and enchants can be used up, but a mask, horns, and hat are for a life time.

I am the opposite I loved the battle tournement the most because only the top of the top could particpate. It felt like a reward to those who worked hard (or took short cuts) to achieve top pvp potential. What i didn't like is how Necros were in the same brackets as summoners as opposed to nukers... but thats another story.

I thought the Battle Tournament was pretty cool. Next go around, let our Battle Tournament winners take on Korea's Winners. :p

Omega's revenge was a cool concept but it didn't really feel like the invasion it was made out to be. It was mobs spawn and kinda wait around to be killed.

Well yeah, it really would be fun with a battle tournament that each regoins winner goes to a final where all regions fight each other.

Korea, Japan, Taiwan(I think), China and, NA/EU.

Would be a really interesting fight :)

Next time for the battle tournaments I hope they are a bit more balanced, not just for the absolute highest lv players but a few more for thees who ain't that high yet. Much like how festival works.

I voted for the Battle Tournament because, though I wasn't eligible to compete, it is the type of even that we need more of. I found it the most inspiring and the most engaging.

My second choice would be (I believe) the Seven spirits event. Or even the undead invasioni. Any event where the event is a bit more dynamic. Maybe with a greater chance to find the monsters/undead etc.

I voted for the L2day letters because it was the one thing I actually got something good from.

I agree I liked the letter event for the fact that it made it so the little man oculd get his hands an epic jewelry

yeah i was haveing trouble decideing but yup epic jewles at an amazingly low rate made me vote for that guy

well i voted the "TIS THE SEASON" because it was the only one i joined, because i only started playing this game on December so i didn't knew the other events... but i'm looking forward to the events in this year :)

I missed the first two, starting playing later. My choice was Seven Spirits, I loved having to work out where they were and random groups getting together to kill the mobs. The drops were prety cool too.

Battle Tournament no doubt. The seven spirits was also cool, its gotten boring with the normal events where you just grind your *** off.

Battle tournament by far.. The rest of these events just feel like they are the same everytime.. Either you get event items as drops or you killed mobs that drops really good.

The events that offer great rewards like epic jewels, lvl 11+ SA crystals are the best imo. Although I have never gotten an item like that it's really the only chance i'll prolly have. Plus it's fun to sit and see which letters you have, or get a bunch of people together to chase mobs or racing others to get that poor fluffy bunny.

L2 Day was most of fun :)

OK I voted for the letter one but I also like HEavy Medal, Fall Harvest and Summer Sqaush. Though they fall short compared to the same events in the previous year. The Battle tournament was something I realy didnt look into being as I had no toons high to even consider trying.

It's between letter event and squash event for me. Voted squash, I'm happy to see a lot of people voted for the letter event too :)

With these, you are guaranteed to get *something* - it may not be super duper awesome, but if you collect a lot, you're sure to get something good.

I voted Squash but i also like the letter event because of the ever so slight chance of getting a +11 or higher SA Crystal. :cool:

Ok well i liked most of the events but i had to vote for omega's revenge because i got some good stuff from it. I got alot of good stuff from the others, its just that the rice cakes saved me when i was about to die right before i dinged 59. I was really dissapointed w/ the medal event this time around, back when they did it the first time in C3 you could earn a butt load of cash from it. I think if the battle tournament could include the lower levels that would be cool.

Wasn't there an unofficial event to win a date with Mistryl? I didn't enter that (and would be shot if I did) but I'd chalk that up as my favorite event.

Also, the drawback of the battle tournament was that we couldn't even watch... At least that is what I remember. But I think we should have more of those. Worth fighting for the Kitties!!!

I love the fact that pretty much anyone who tried, got something.
I hate having to go through so much to try and customize my character.
The more customization possible, the better. (since they refuse to increase the model's)

Well, my thoughts are that none of these events really piqued my interest and there wasn't any none of the above option so I'll just play the SOUR-PUSS on this poll :p

I voted heavy metal. Because I remember, it was fairly easy for me to get Metals turn them in for GSA pots, and quick heal pots.

But I liked the concept of the Battle tournament. but I'd hope that they'd make better brackets to allow more people of various levels compete.

IE: 76+ Com., 70-75, 61-69, 52-60. ect...

I'd like to see events like what they had on the C3/4 PTS with the massive mobs. I'd also like to see a vast dropping of Greater compressed SS/bsps packages, And L2 days scrolls. I'd also would like to see more chances at Epic jewelry for Minor people, and not just big allies.

As it is now it's just way too expensive to craft Greater compressed SS/Bsps.

I had to pick the Fall Harvest because it is the only one I was able to participate that benefited from having multiple people on it :)

I chose the L2 Day letters cos i was very lucky at finding Rare letters and made millions only of that. :D

I like mobs. Killing mobs that drop stuff. If they only made more mobs, like the time the dark lord invaded, and like the independence day event :)

I voted for heavy medal. All mobs droped the items, not many quest items to fill your inventory and you got back useful things (even if you didn't get anything back, you could sell the medals). Plus it was available to all levels. So, thumbs up for heavy medal.

Letters

While the medal event was ok I liked going through trying to find that last letter to turn in another set. Both had rewards for everyone but I think the letters were the most creative, even if we've seen them a few times.

Well I missed events from July-November, so guess that was first squash and medals, but overall I'd say events this year not as good as previously. The best events we've had imo were the one where Raid Bosses appeared o/s town gates bitd (early in c3) and the awesome Dafstin's Revenge (*rubs chin and nods sagely*). Pumpkins were really gimped this time around, so much so that I've got a few large seeds left and have no desire to use them, plus, as with all events, drop rates for Euro players are just ridiculous (ie non existent). The one event I did like, although it has had a lot of criticism, is the recent one where mobs dropped mats - made a nice change and I found quite a few groups. Rice cakes a complete waste of time though (had 200 to sell ever since, and no takers :(

Also I hope we're going to get more events in first part of the year this year, we usually get them all from June-December and nothing worth the name before. Also need a fishing event (I note NPC has an icon for one which does nothing, so expect one is planned), an event involving pets (my buffalo has to have some use other than to help me b2m occasionally), a return of the RBs o/s towns event pst, ditto some new variant of the dafstin's revenge WHERE THE MOBS ACTUALLY ATTACK STORES IN TOWN AS WAS PROMISED LAST TIME ^^ some kind of sports event would be great - missed opportunity for inter-clan football tournament last year to tie in with World Cup (the arrowhead run just didn't cut it - necro's being slowest **** class in the game :( and some new event where random treasure chests are dotted around the world which contain treasure, rare items - or evil heavy duty mobs, a bit like the wish pot quest chests. Bunnies was pathetic, and please, please, drop the xmas farce next year - that's just an insult.

I've voted for "The Seven Spirits of Mischief". But that was before C5 and the raidboss-nerf.

I had no favorite event in 2006 i personally thought they were all screwed up.

Can we go back to how events were in 2005?

Battle Tournament was what i voted for. Though I didnt compete in the tournament it was still a very interesting idea and i hope to see more events along those lines.

Talk about a vocal minority... only 13% voted for the pvp event, yet that's all we hear about on the boards. Most of the people who voted for the tournament posted about it here, giving the illusion that it was more popular, but there's a whole 87% that preferred other events. The folks at NC would do well to take note of this! The game's not ALL about pvp, dammit.

That being said, i liked the dafstin events best, as far as both story and gameplay/rewards, though why they had to rename him to "omega" escapes me. I also liked the idea of the bunnies event, even though the bunnies themselves were so sparse i didn't see a single one during the whole event. More bunnies next time, if you do it again. As has been stated here, events are more fun when more than a small minority actually get to participate in them!
