Ice Fairy Sirra clues

Hi
I would like to know how to use these petrification scrolls we get when entering Sirra Castle, tried on each mob of the instance but never worked :confused:
I'm sure it can be helpful to beat Sirra but how ???

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who could make these work as well.

i've tried them on mobs both during the ice fairy raid and out of it, and on pcs in/out of party and in the arena. as far as i can see they don't do anything currently.

I'm starting to think the things are bugged!

I've never been there so I could be very wrong here but do the scrolls not work the same way as the waking scrolls, e.g they are for removing petrification rather than casting it.

I've not seen the actual scrolls so forgive me if this is incorrect.

according to the scrolls they petrify the target. maybe it was mistranslated when it was patched into the na servers?

No the scroll actually says "Temporarily petrifies the target".

so sorry for daring to paraphrase :p i don't think anyone was going to assume the target would stay petrified forever.

I understand. However, from experiance doing this raid, I can tell you that anyone who is seriuos about taking this boss will go in with a bishop and a SE both of whom can cure para. Oh, the para that happens is with the first mob group, the Gardener, and it a normal para not boss so it can be cured by skill use. The more I see, the more I beleive these scrolls are bugged.

Out of curiosity if you try this boss again and have the scrolls try using them on someone who has been petrified rather than using a buffer.

That way it will rule out the possibility that there has been a mis-translation as to what the scrolls do.

I petitioned the GMs. The answer I got back indicates that the scrolls are not bugged. Of course they can't tell me how to use them or what to use them on but the did say the following.....

So there you have it. They can be used, we just have to figure out how and on what target to use them. If we attempt the Ice Fairy again tonight I think that I have a few ideas to try. I will report on the results as soon as possible.

Yeah but at least we can assume it means the things aren't bugged. They work.....we just don't know how.....lol

If by "advantage" they mean certain death, then I suppose they will work, won't they?

Have you tried rolling them up and smacking the mob on the nose with it?

im thinking that we all missed something here. paralyze isn't the same as petrify right? can things take damage if theyre petrified?

Well we did the Ice Fairy successfully last night. I attempted to use the scrolls several times in different conditions. Never once did it work. When attempting on mobs, I receive Invalid Target. When attempting on toons, I receive an incorrect condition notice.
1) Tried on first mob group, both the minions and the Gardener.
2) Tried on third mob group, both the minions and the Dog. (We skipped the middle mob group as we are a DD party).
3) Tried on the Captain of the Ice Queen boss, at multiple times throughout the fight.
4) Tried on the Ice Fairy, and all her minions.
5) Tried on various party members throughout the entire run.

Not once did the scroll do a thing.

True, but then the scroll would dissappear, which is not happening. I think on the next attempt maybe we will try using the scroll on the Tank while he's on the boss. Perhaps that will make the tank invunerable for a short period of time so the healer doesn't have to use mp for heals?????

thats why i was saying i didnt think that petrify and paralyze are the same. :p

I wouldn't do that... A petrified tank isn't of much use, unless the boss miraculously stays on the tank and doesn't aggro on anyone else.

According to NCKorea the Petrification Scrolls are to be used on the Healer of the party, to protect him or her when Freya's Dog in the third group tells Freya's White Bears to attack the Healer:

Just disregard the scrolls. The raid is easy to do even with a random party.
