Also adding to the above. What are the max amours/ weapons found, called and stats. Beacuse all the weapon and amour stats realy confuse me right now ^^
http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/race_elf_skill.html

this will show you what you need to know about your elf and what way you want to go with him
and in the libary too there is a section on armors...but

NG Armor and weaponst are for lvl 1and up
DG Armor and weapons are for lvl 20 and up
Cgrade is lvl 40 and up
Bgrade is lvl 52 and up
Agrade is 61 and up
and Sgrade is 76

this applies to jewlery and soul shots too

welcome to lineage....it's going to be quite the trip :)
There is no "instruction manual"
Not even when you buy a box ( at least not when I bought it)

Almsot everything can be found in the Library section of the Lineage 2 web site. The rest can be found on the boards :).

You should also check out the New Player Guide on the web site. All the commands should be there. Including [ "playername message] for private messages, and a hole bunch of other commands

Feal free to post more questions on the boards. Plenty of knowledgable people here. Oh and plenty of forum trolls waiting for an opertunity to ++ their post count.

Good luck!!
thank you everyone for ur replys :)
Here's some quick tips:

1)Money is hard, XP is easy. Conversely, almost everyone around you will seem to have (Lots of) money and trying to level as fast as possible. Most of these will be people will be long time players who are funding an alt/subclass and can afford it so don't be too discouraged. Learn how to make money and join a clan. If nothing else they should help you with your D grade in return for the points they get from you leveling in their academy.

2)Most 'Field' mobs drop instant 'herbs', 'Dungeon' mobs do not. Soloing where the herbs drop is *much* easier than where they do not. Thus, your best place to find a group is at the entrance to a dungeon. (For Catacomb/Necropolis, just make sure your 'signed up' before hand.)

3)For melee chars, Heavy > Light armor when you are below Level 40. Even if you don't have Heavy armor masteries. (As long as you can afford a higher level heavy armor versus the light.)

4)Know what Soulshots, Spiritshots and Blessed Spirit shots are and how they are used. Know how much they cost versus drops as well. (This is the #1 'money sink' in game.) Use the free ones you get from the beginner quests, but work on other ways of making money once you run out if you plan on using them constantly, (aka spam them) as constant use is a quick way to run out of money fast for melee chars.

5) DO NOT sell crafting materials to the NPC! Basic materials are worth far more to other players. (Giran is the main 'marketplace.') You can however, pretty much npc any 'key' materials (Blades/tempers/edges) for any item below C grade. For C grade, know what can be bought in the Luxury shop of Giran, and keep everything from B grade on up to sell in town.

6)L2 is a 'grind'...don't expect to get into the heart of pvp or even pve 'fast'. (levels or power) Keep in mind that the 'core' players have 3 years worth of xp and cash to throw around...and you do not. (Yet) Work on cash and community first, xp and pvp after. If you prefer a lot of pvp, you will need the help of a good clan (equip and leveling) to get there anytime soon.

7)Beware! When you start to gain money and equipment, you may be tempted to 'enchant' things. This is especially true if you gain some enchanting scrolls after an event. Know however, that the L2 'random number generator' is a sadistic beast. Thus all items are safe to enchant up to +3, (+4 on full body armor - one piece for top/bottom) but any items you try to enchant over this have a alarming tendancy to blow up. Leaving you with a smaller pile of Crystals and no item. Don't do this unless you can afford the loss and replacement value. Game info states a 2/3 chance of success for each attempt above the 'safe' level...in practice it seems that 2/3 of all people will fail 90% of the time and 1/3 people will succeed 90% of the time...

8)You get 7 character slots per server per account...go ahead and use them. Sometime, the char you start with is not the one that you end up liking the most in the long run. Don't be afraid to have several other chars who's sole existence is there to make money for your 'main'. (Pretty much everyone has done or does this in some form.)

9)Finally, this is a 'hardcore' pvp game. (With some consequences.) That said, the number of 'griefers' is low but not rare. Newbie towns are almost completely safe, Gludin is usually the first place you will encounter a pk (red). Usually around 'Windmill hill'. Gludio is uncommon, and Dion is usually the 'hot-spot' for reds. (Just outside town and the Execution Grounds area...also the 'pk town' Floran is nearby.) You won't see them every day or every week...but you'll probably run into them at least once or twice if you level there. After you move on to Giran and above for mob levels they will become extremely rare again. Conversely, if you are in a clan, this is when the incidences of pvp or ganking become much more common.
Thats some 'Post' :o
