Brand new player wondering which server I should roll on. Are there newer servers? Or will everyone on every server be incredibly far ahead of me gear/exp wise?
Franz being the newest server is the second Euro one.
If your not Euro then don't play Franz or Teon.
Teon is pretty muchly ruled by one ally.
Alot would say their server, for X reasons. I will say that most would tell you to stay very far away from Erica, for many reasons. Erica is the same as Teon, ruled mostly by one ally.
If you like to RP= role play, lionna would be the most likely choice.
Kain and Bartz has the Best PvP of all the servers. Bartz and kain are harsh, but Kain has claimed down alot over the last 2 Chronicles.(I play kain btw)
One thing about kain, theirs been a massive amount of Argentines lately, and their is a lot of Russians that play the server.

I can't say much for the other servers.
About Erica, what Ally is it that rules the whole server?
If you are Euro, the sieges are set at times to be more accommodating to your times zone. You'll likely want to to look at Teon or Franz, whichever ping is lower.
If you are not Euro (though there are plenty of Euros playing on the NA servers) you should probably choose the lowest ping for the least lag. All servers have their S graders and there is not going to be an easy road server. You'll have to earn your way and play catch-up on them all.
If you are into RP, a suggestion is Lionna the "unofficial" RP server. Of course I encourage new players to check out Sieghardt as it is still a fairly vibrant server with pvp, some up and coming alliances like NH and PoD and existing powerhouses like Cata, ICA, First and smaller clans that are welcoming and helpful to new players such as Wolveneye.
