im after brig helm design,,,a certain website says that karul bugbear drops the items after killing i think 329 of them,,
does this mean i have to kill 329 mobs for 1 design or does it mean the item will start to be dropped reguallry after 329 mobs have been killed i need 7 items so thats approx 2000+mobs to kill :/
It means that it drops from 1 out of 329 mobs(so less than 1% of the mobs you kill will drop it) If you are really lucky you could get them in 7 straight kills. If you are really unlucky you may kill 10000 and never see one drop.
When I used to lvl on those mobs trying to get them brig helm designs, I would get lots of brig shields to drop and .... 2 full brig helm drops after about 2 days of hunting!!
So, you may get lucky. ^_^
You need to kill 329 mobs on average to get one design.
But do not rely on that, it's random. For example I was hunting Taik orcs, and got 9 plate shield recipes and 4 metallic thread recipes - though plate shield recipe has lower droprate according to that site.
Oh and spent 3 (almost 4) levels killing archers and orcs there ... got 2 brig helm designs. Don't hold your breath.

Lineage 2 is unlike other games in that many drops are rare.
Funny enough, I remember when I was going to craft a demon staff. I went to the area where the mobs dropped the recipe, ready to be grinding there for weeks in order to get it.
yes im getting kite and brig shield frags like theres no tommorow...i finally have 1 design taken 2hours to get it :( only 6 to go,,,with bit of luck i,ll have a full drop before i get 7 designs
thanks ppl...btw anyone have any spare designs on teon server pm halfp1nt in game now :) many thanks
I remember trying to farm the gargoyles in Forsaken plains for my zubei light recipe. Yay for a primarily dagger armor recipe dropping of dagger/archery resistant mobs....never did get the recipe, but I found one for 100k.
Drop rate for brig helm is rare, wasp leaders drop also but the drop rate isnt any better. I tryed for a bit on both of the mobs and gave up really isnt worth the effort.
Unless you plan on being in D grade forever, Brig Helm really isnt worth the time (to craft) or money (to buy). You'll be fine in main brig pieces with a plain ol' Helmet. Brig Gloves and Boots are same story, unless you want those for aesthetic value.
and not just poling any aoe is good. if you want to help and at the same way get the drops get your academy members to places like bee hive, Ivory Tower pit, and the HV area were the bugbears area and just aoe with them you get nice drops and at same time help them level when there are no raids.

Pole these areas? AOE them? Have you even *BEEN* to the areas?
First off, trying to aoe the bugbears in the HV area is right out...those are non-aggro, non-social mobs that are not only rather slim in numbers, but fairly well spread out to boot. Not only that, but trying to gather them would be silly as well, since they spam-stun HARD. Plus, this area is fairly popular...which might come in part because pretty much *every* 2nd class has a quest that uses these for mobs to kill! I see lots of alts and academy members drop in and out of this area every day.
As for IT pit area, those would be the Manashen Gargoyles I believe....social, but non aggro and another stun using mob. But again, small numbers and very spread out. Plus the area is dotted with Enchanted Monster Eyes which are ranged aggro magic users. There really aren't any aoe friendly mobs down there at all.
And finally, the Bee hive area. Plenty of mobs in this area, and half are aggro anyway...but the actual mobs which could drop the parts are again, fairly well spread out and mixed in with all the other mobs. Of which, at least one has a ranged Mana drain spell that it *loves* to cast. For the drop rate on these, you may as well go solo the bugbears with a nuker and end up with a better drop rate over time.
OK I just spent 2-3 nights therefarming the bugbears by HV on Bartz. Me and my GF got in drops 1 Brig Helm, 2 Brig Shields, enough parts to craft another 2 Brig Helms and 4 more Brig Shields. It is all based on luck like a previous poster said you can get it the first mob or never get it at all. You also might try the Taik Orcs for the Brig parts, and the archers and warriors also drop some other parts and items that are also good to have.
