New Necromancer sp Question

Player Questions Started Last reply 10 posts
I just completed my class change to necromancer. I have a pool of sp, but am afraid to waste it. I dont know which skills are the best, or which skills to avoid. Any experienced necromancers out there have any opinion about this? thanks in advance

idk i was just given all my skills at 40
basically i dont think you get anything until 44, you still continue to use blaze as your main nuke and may get a summon or 2
stick with weapon and armor masteries and prolly skip everything else

you should prolly never get half of your debuffs as well
as always upgrade the skills you use most 1st, others can wait.

for instance, some of the vital things are: Silence, B2M, Summon Corrupted Man, Anchor, Gloom, Slow, Corpse Life Drain, Death Spike, Curse Death Link, Basic masteries.

Other curses are optional and can wait for a bit. Sleep, I wouldn't upgrade it cause it ain't worth a jack.

problem is at 40 a necro really isnt anything
they dont get a new nuke (not even an upgrade for blaze)
they might get a new summon im not really sure
i think they get some gimp debuff like curse discord

all the cool stuff like para, silence, gloom, silence, death spike, cdl come at higher lvls

and i would prolly lvl up sleep at least till 60+, combine slooooooow sleep with reasonable cast speed para and you are pretty much invincible in pve
They do get vampiric claw though. I know it shouldn't be used as a main nuke, but it's a nuke regardless, and a good one to have :)
actually, Silence is available at lvl 40 :p

so to be precise, at 40, I'd get all the basic masteries, Transfer Pain, Silence, Summon Corrupted and Corpse Drain

I have my Claw trained and upto date, hover, my necro is now mid 60's, and I can tell that so far I've used the claw for a grand total of 2 times since 1st learning it way back at lvl 40 :p
Get:
Anti magic
Boost mana
Fast Spell casting
Higher mana gain
Robe mastery
Weap mastery
BtM
Corpse life drain
Vamp claw
Use flamestrike as main nuke btm all the way down and then use vampclaw (carefully) to get hp again.
Etc.
Summons u have 2 see for urself btw corupted man is a pvp summon uses 90% exp.
Death spike lvl 44 is a expensive fast nuke one bone 360 adena.
Cdl lvl 52 is cool but needs a new strategy.
Anchor lvl 44 is a must anchor rules even deep red mobs since C5.
Corpse burst i dont use myself but i read it is a bit more powerfull now.
Enjoy the game!

pretty sure its blaze
flamestrike is the low lvl aoe skill

yeah i never used it for any purpose other than a joke or to mess around with mobs, but its the only full damage aoe nuke in game
yup its blaze u are right :)
I guess vamp claw isn't as needed now that we have hp herbs, but I still say it's a very good skill to have - especially if the necro is cdl'ing and gets into a bit of trouble and needs to heal up fast.
