Summmon Question

Hi there,

I am a new player and I got to level 20 yesterday with my dark elf on the Franz server.

I could finally start to summon some monsters from the depths and now it turns out the spell to summon them has a very long cooldown of like a couple of hours, does it stay like that forever or does it get lower as I level?

An how long is the cooldown exactly? And how long do the summons stay out?

Thanks in advance
Cool down on pre-40 summons is four hours, with modifiers based on acumen settings, ie acumen or acumen weapon post-40 or robes with bonus cast speed.

After level 40, you will be able to summon nearly instantly after summoning your servitor, provided you go phantom summoner.
Only the summoner class can summon/unsummon as often as they want. If you choose another class at your second class change you are stuck with the same timing as you have now, providing you even find a use for the summons after level 40.

The servitor will now last for about 1.5 hours or so once summoned, if your in constant battle.
it's still 80 minutes base time pre 40. The base reuse time for summons pre 40 is 6 hours but that's reduced a lot by cast speed.
not many know this but only a handful of summoners do.

tip:
Wearing light armor in the Pre class change makes the cool down refresh smaller that way i was able to summon in less time that the regular 4 hours it wont make you cast faster but you will be able to do it in less time.
umm that doesn't make any sense. You're asserting that lowing yoru cast speed decreases cooldown.
i know it doesn't make sense but it works. you want me to call it by the way it is okay is a glitch it not suppose to happen but it does.

when your a Wizard (20 - 40) you have no light armor masteries so you can't cast as you usually do in robes but the refresh for summoning makes a small jump if your planning for summoning.

i have to do it cause since i was doing the last quest for class change so I'm required to use my summon.

and as i said before not may summoners know of it and seems your one of them.
yeah i'm pretty sure that's BS. i'll test it on an alt tonight.

Have you discovered this "bug" during your last class change quest? The one where you have to duel the other summoners?
In that case it is a buff of those summoners.
They cast a buff upon you that lasts for, IIRC, 60 seconds and reduces the cooldown of your summon skill drastically. If you cast during those 60 seconds that is.
easiest way to do that quest is to get all 6 cards, then duel the summons. You can use Pet SS and with your Dimension Diamonds and 3 or 4 soe's you can kill all of the other summons before your summon disappears.
Also, if your summon is on that long cooldown when you finally do change classes, you still have to wait for it before you can summon again...... at least I did, but after that you should be ok.
Your summon should have no cooldown at all when you change classes.

Each of the summoners that you have to fight will give you a buff that has the effect of decreasing the reuse timer of the summon spells tremendously (i.e. you can summon again pretty much right away) - simply summon one servitor, and then, instead of heading to the next duel, level with it until it's out - you should get to 40 comfortably this way.
There is a bug though I found. If one of your pre-40 summons is in cool down when you complete your class change, it will stay in cool down. Each time you open your player stats the cool down will reset. This happened on both of my summoners (Warlock and PS). It also happened to another summoner in my clan. The only fix seems to be to leave your players stats window open with the skills displayed. Let the skill cool down and reset before you close the stats display. Once it has done this, the skill returns to normal and you can summon-unsummon it as you will.

make ss and link it and let see if I'm bs anyone. and i didn't discover a friend told me to do it when he was doing the class change as well i don't give a **** if you or anyone else believe me all you have to do is try it out then say if is bs or not. i want to see after you find that is true that you eat your words and say your sorry. I'm not like everyone that treat others like crap.

not everyone have box account that can do that quest in a breeze not everyone has top d grade that can kill the mobs easily for the arcana cards and not everyone has the time to wait for the summon to cool down.

friends tell me things and i listen to them before making any conclusion you should do the same. this game has change a lot since you were the level i just pass in the last week so don't think you know everything. just because you higher in level doesn't mean you know everything in the game. it only means you have vast experience at leveling with your class.
I think my fellow summoners have the right of it, you probably had the buff from the summoners.

I did the class change for phantom summoner and I had no cooldown issues; if you collect all 6 cards before you start any dueling, you just need to be able to beat 2 of the 3 summoners with a single summon, as you can do shadow then silhouette.

I managed to do them without waiting for cooldown even before the change was made where the summon's lifespan is 4x as long outside of combat. I beat 2 summoners in 20 minutes with Shadow, then summoned Silhouette for the third summoner.
There's also the fact that if you wait to be asked to summon as per the quests instruction there is no cooldown.
Yeah, I know. Though I am not sure if that patch was ingame at the time I did the quest; I'm oldschool summoner.

Even with the change, you have a pretty short time to summon and if you have some problem with summoning (e.g. too close to a tree) you can lose the buff before you summon. And in that case you even can complete the quest just fine anyhow.
