cursed village

for the quest "Inhabitants of the Forest of the Dead" do you have to be in the cursed village before midnight in order to actually see the mobs change once the clock strikes 12? i tried going there after midnight (it only says to see them during the night not any particular time) but im unable to proceed with the quest when trying to speak with dorian again during the daylight hours.

I haven't done this quest but the following was on Stratics

9. Return to the Village after midnight game time. At the stroke of midnight the village changes from a safe place to become filled with Vampires. The various villagers become minions of Von Hellman a Raid Boss Vampire.

10. After you have seen the villagers at midnight you can return to Dorian. Tell him there is a vampire.

why do i feel like theres a secret stone or something on which my character needs to step? i thought id walked around there plenty but i guess ill do it some more lol

You don't have to be there at midnight but you have to wait till he transforms into a raid fighter. Just walk up to Dorian and he will talk and the cross will break. Come back during the day. If the RB is farmed in your server then you might have to be there at spawn time.

I'm pretty sure you have to be in the Cursed Village before midnight as at midnight the RB spawns and all of the town occupants immediately turn into raid fighters. After you see the guy as a raid fighter you have to come back at daytime and talk to him. But Tailchaser may be right and it may work if you just see him as a raid fighter then come back in the day time to talk to him. I don't remember talking to him when he was a raid fighter ... are you sure you have to do this?

I think I whent to the willage well after midnight. When I got close to the RB Dorian said something like "Oh! The cross of Elishasad" and the cross broke.
After that I hunted nearby and talked to Dorian in the morning.

well that boss was heavily farmed back when i done it so i made sure i was there before midnight

pretty much all i done was check out the boss (id never seen it before) and soe
i didnt notice any quest update but i was standing pretty close to them and dorian did say something
when i got back to town i noticed the cross was broken

You just need to be close enough to the npc when its a raid fighter for the quest to continue. The npc will talk, which will be the only way for you to tell that your quest is now updated (I didnt see any missing items or changes in my quest inventory). You do NOT need to target or click the npc. So dont be like my friend who thought she had to have a npc window open and died after double clicking on the npc. :p

this sounds like a really awesome quest lol :)

I liked that one, it's long, consists of more parts and has some interesting story to read.

the quest is enormous and prolly the best quest in game
i done it over 3 days (grinding off and on) reward is like 1.6 million sp and 2 or 3 B grade jewles

and the cross should break while next to the npc

I agree, this is great quest... very interesting story. I found myself looking forward to each npc to get more of the story. ... actually read the things!!! And nice reward at the end, the B grade jewelry.

Yes, you have to be in the village at Midnight... wait for the npc to change. then click on him once. the cross will break in your inventory... then you have to wait until daylight when dorian becomes dorian again, and tell him what you saw.

where is the cursed village? Its the first time I hear it. lol

Open up map (alt-m is that) and scroll to the north-northwest region. It is near Rune town in Forest of the dead.

Cursed village was added in C4 ;)

It might be a little late now but i did this part of the quest the other day. As you approach the raid boss he says something about the cross you are carring and you should receive a broken cross. And thats all you have to do. Then you need to wait until day time and go and visit Dorian again. You can be in the village before or after midnight it does not matter you just have to get close to the raid boss. The vampires in the village at night are agro and most of them nuke, although there are not that many of them. But when you soe dont stand in the village to do so its better to leave and soe from outside where there is no agro.

Also when you do the last part of the quest (called hidden truth i think) you get an option to visit one of 2 npcs. Visiting Hardrin is better as you get the 2mil xp for that.

ive heard different opinions on this
i chose to visit lidia and recived about 1.8 mil xp and 3 B grade jewles
a friend vivited hardin and got 1.8 mil xp (same as me) and only 2 B grade jewles

Xp without sp is just cruel :confused:

You get either necklace and earring, or earring and 2 rings AFAIK. I think I spoked to lady and she gave me 2 rings and earring.

yeah lol (dont remember if this quest gives sp as well though)
still better than the quests that take 4 hours to complete and reward you with the equivilent xp of killing 5 mobs
