% Cardinal Rez

Player Questions Started Last reply 37 posts
I was just told tonight that a 78 cardinal rezzed a friend of mine with her skill (not brez) and he got close to 100%, like 95-96% (He's 76 ) ... How is that possible? I thought the cap was on 90%. Am I wrong???? Please explain if you know!! Thanks.

Also.. in doing my cardinal quest I died... (grr -- thank god for friend there with Brez) and I lost like 6%. ... Why so much? What happened to 4%??
it's 90%. the guy is smoking crack or doesn't realize his clan has clan luck now (I guess.)
Yep 90% is the cap.

Did you delvl when you died?
If you were 76 at like 1% and died you lose A TON of exp because of the level differences, it sucks hard.

And 90% is the cap, plus that clan thing.

Oh, okay... so that's the reason. Thanks (Good thing there was a Brez there)

What clan thing?? Sorry, I don't know what you mean with that. Come to think of it, he said something about "lucky clan"...
There is a passive skill for clans that will increase the res percentage of their members (I think when they receive a res).

Nope you just lose less % on death
the cap WAS 96%, what happened? wit doesnt modify res% anymore?
No sorry the Bonus Cap is 20%, so Max rez for Bishop is 90% and for Elven Elder is 80%. Max rez +20%, you need to have a certain amount of Wit for the 20% bonus though.
Never heard of 96% before
>.< my bad, i forgot the 20% res cap bonus
Yep, I did that on the PTS at like 76 and .01 in and lost the same amount, I sent it in as a bug and they said that's how it works. That would definitely be worth using a brez for.
The reason for that is that it takes your level before death (in that case, 76), it looks at how much XP that level takes to go to the next (220 mil XP for 76->77) and then subtracts 4% of 220 mil XP, or 8.8 mil XP.

Losing 8.8 mil XP, however, puts you somewhere around 93.1% into level 75 because level 75->76 needs less XP than level 76->77. The exact percentage will be somewhere between 4% and 6.9% depending on how far into 76 you were.

Regardless of the % change, though, you will always lose 8.8 mil XP; the numeric XP amount lost will not change, regardless of how far into 76 you were.
I know, it still hurts a lot.
-8.8m hurts a lot regardless ;)

It makes me a sad monkey.

the point being even though you lost 7 or 8% its still the same xp
you would still need to kill X amount of mobs to earn back the xp regardless of if you were 76.001 or 76.99 when you died
Yeah, but delevling to 75 in the middle of the 3rd class change, which requires you to be 76,.... well..... BREZ ftw

Thanks everyone for the info :)

Dying at 70+ = BREZ ftw in my book ;)
EE's max rez without WIT dyes is 60%. whats the addition when wearing +4 and +5 WIT. can someone clear this plz?
for EE only :)
As people said many times in this thread its 20% so 80% rez is max for an EE.

Well, it doesn't want to let me link, but this was originally posted in the player guides section. (Also, you must not want to know badly enough to look for yourself, since it's on the FIRST PAGE.)

There have been a lot of misconceptions on how you can get the greatest % of res. Because of that I decided to write a little guide.

There are 3 common misconceptions on how to get the most out of your res:

1. The only way to increase your res is to increase your wit. BSPS has no effect on how much % you get back from your res, only how fast you cast.
2. Wit does not add a set amount of % onto your res. Commonly people say it is +3 each wit or +5. This is also false.
3. It is impossible to get a 93% res or 95% res or what ever other variation of such you have heard. There is a hard cap of a bonus of 20% added onto your res.

Now that, that is out of the way we can get onto the good stuff. You must understand that wit adds a % onto your res. So you must take your normal res level, for instant 20% and then add on the bonus by multiplying it in. 23 wit gives a 16% bonus, so you would take 20*1.16 to get how much your res is worth, 23.2.

Here is the % bonuses for wit:

* 17 = -14%
* 18 = -9%
* 19 = -5%
* 20 = 0%
* 21 = 5%
* 22 = 10%
* 23 = 16%
* 24 = 22%
* 25 = 28%
* 26 = 34%
* 27 = 41%
* 28 = 48%
* 29 = 55%
* 30 = 63%
* 31 = 71%

I picked this range because if you have less then 17% wit perhaps you shouldn't be resurrecting people. And 31 is the max because thats what an Elven Elder with +5 wit and Blue Wolf should have.

You should now be able to calculate what ever your res % is. However just to make things easy, I will now list the res levels and what wit you need for max. I will also list the wit below it if its within % or so of the max.

1. Level 1 res, 0% back. Wit does not matter here.
2. Level 2 res, 20% back. 35 wit needed to get a 40% res, but this is impossible.
3. Level 3 res, 30% back. 31 wit needed to get a 50% res.
30 wit will get you a 48.9% res.
4. Level 4 res, 40% back. 29 wit needed to get a 60% res.
28 wit will give a 59.2% res
5. Level 5 res, 50% back. 27 wit needed to get a 70% res.
6. Level 6 res, 55% back. 27 wit needed to get a 75% res.
7. Level 7 res, 60% back. 26 wit needed to get a 80% res.
8. Level 8 res, 65% back. 26 wit needed to get a 85% res.
9. Level 9 res, 70% back. 26 wit needed to get a 90% res.
25 wit will give a 89.6% res

And thats about everything there is to know about maximizing the % given back from resurrection. Comments and Questions will be appreciated.

ty very much, you made it 100% clear now. :)
Epic raids a lot of people still take bishops rezzes, since a Brez takes too long and it can be interrupted if the boss tromps on over to you during it.

Plus we have mass rez which although returns less exp, is so efficient that most don't have a problem with it. You always have a few whiners though ;)

Lol - one Antharas raid after he went nutso towards the end, we all recieved the order to take ANY rez offered, unless you needed a specific rez to relevel and gain all mp back. The amount of grumbling at taking my SE's 25% was ungodly - especially since i hit rez, then buffed - if they didn't stand, I wouldn't buff them. I'm not wasting my mp twice ^^
Casting speed is a function of Wit>
Wit increases casting speed>
Wit increases rez>
Acumen SA increases casting speed>

Is it remotely possible that an Acumen weapon might give some small background boost to Wit? which would give a small increase to rez?

Never thought about this before actually.....
No, none at all.

More WIT means more casting speed, but it doesn't work in reverse.
And everyone remembers the goobers that laid on the floor refusing rezzes when it comes time for exp parties later on too :cool:
I don't really understand why people won't accept a bishop res, especially during raid events/seiges etc. etc. I will pretty much accept anything over 50% if it means we have a better chance on completing what we were suppose to do.

The only time I wouldn't accept a bishop rez is if I was level 76 and deleveled and a bishop res wouldn't bump me back to 76, and I was just in a normal situation with 4% death.
You would be surprised at the whiners about a Bishop rez. Now I always ask before I rez. Tired of the whining. But I agree with you Maitreya... if there is a task at hand, a bishop rez is fast, pretty high %, and gets you back to doing what you were there to do. *shrugs*
At least now they can deny it, before in party people would just pop up and some would be furious about it, even if you did it so a 1 person wipe didn't turn into a full party wipe ( you know, when sleep cloud was still viable, for instance)
I've had people from the biggest PVE clan on hinde tell me where to put my rez, and it wasn't a shiny place. Adena > Bishops FTW.

I have experimented with some willing redemption people from hinde:

Wit of 26 = 90% rez exactly. (DC Set, no buffs, no sps, no weapon equipped, +4 wit tat)

You can experiment on me anytime you like. :D
Seriously 90% returned from a rez is worth my 1.5M that I would have to spent on a BREZ.
Depends on level I guess, if soloing for a buff round gets you like .02, a brez wins out.

Still hate those stupid scrolls, it's the only scroll I can think of that does BETTER than the highest level player learned skill. ie: You can't buy WW3 in a pot or DW4 in a scroll.
I'll take the highest rez I can get for free. I'm the poorest noblesse on hinde >.<
Since C5 I take any res, even 20%. SP FTW ...
