Fastest class to level?

So I'm returning to L2 and have decided to use a new account and have a fresh start. I have a SE in the 40s on another account, but am not planning on using it to help level. Which class would you recommend for fastest leveling without any outside help? I was thinking of making a silver ranger, bad idea? Any info about leveling would be greatly appreciated as it seems *everything* has changed since around C2 when I played.

With absolutely no outside help, perhaps summoner (though you will have to endure being a mage until 40.

Spellhowler is also fast leveling but the reality is you need at least empower 1 to make it worth it.

Polearmers, elemental summoners and SHs/necros are probably the premier levelling classes. However, you won't level fast with a class you don't enjoy - so find a class you like, and try to find friends and groups with it that will level fast. Almost every class can be useful in some form of decent to high EXP group.

Without any outside help, I'd say all three summoners are probably the best, especially since they are not as gear dependant as other classes.

Fore pure leveling speed with no outside help i's say elemental summoner. PS levels a bit more slowly but is more fun to play.

but is more fun to play.

That depends a lot on taste, now doesn't it? ¬_¬

no there's data. Or there will be in about an hour...
