Wich character is the best for start?
Mybe dwarf for gold and items?
Unless you LOVE crafting or getting mats don't start with a dwarf.
You should look at the Library and look at the classes. Find one that looks interesting, maybe do some searches on that class and then come back with more pointed questions so that we can give you a more in depth response.
I think all of the orc classes are easy to play at start and if you want to be a damage dealer with fist weapons that has the highest run speed in game, highest attack speed in game, or a big strong guy wielding a 2h weapon and dooing alot of damage or if u want to be a support character for an entire alliance, or a support character for parties they have it all.
Orcs are not beginner characters - none of them, not even the brutish destroyer.
An easy beginner character for gameplay is probably a damage dealer, preferably a dagger user or archer.
However, from a financial perspective, you can't beat a summoner or healer for a starter - gear dependance can kill game enjoyment fast while a new player tries to grasp the economy.
- a mage and a fighter (humans, elves and DE are very similar in their first lvl) : make sure to try the 3 fighter attack skills (sword, bow, dagger), and for a mage try attack spells (wind and ice) and heals (try to find another new player to party with so he can need your heals:)
- a dwarf : a bit like other fighter class but you'll see... well you WONT see skills:) you'll see a difference around lvl ~12 when you have craft and spoil but no combat skill, you'll realize the difference between dwarves and others.
- an orc : the fighter is still a bit similar to others except he has fist weapon skills (and sword too, but no dagger/bow). the mage is very different from other mages, not easy to start with, but good too.
I will say that the Orc Mystic is a very easy and fun class to play as a starter character. They are much less gear dependent than normal mages:
higher HP means less death
awesome drains for HP heals means no need for healing potions
DOTs mean Matk is not as big of a factor
Of all the characters I played truly solo (no outside buffs, no parties) the Orc Mystic / Shaman path was probably the most fun and in parties they truly shine.
Well, having recently made a human knight on a bet I'd have to say the human knight path is pretty darned easy right now.
-You are nearly impossible to kill in PvE as long as you aren't afk.
-Your damage is not high, but isn't bad either.
-Solo is extremely easy... find a mob whack it until it dies, loot, move to next mob... No worries about 3-4 extra mobs hitting you as long as you don't go afk. (extras hitting you isn't efficient, but there is little risk of death) You don't even need soulshots. (its faster, but not necessary)
-Even if you go low on HP, you have healing spells (even as a Dark Avenger) and the human HP resting skill Relax. HP restoration by resting was massively upgraded recently, so even with 1 HP left, you wil be back in action pretty quick.
Human knights turn into reasonable PvP classes (you aren't a god, but are a reasonable threat to any class at high levels)
Elven knight and Dark elven knight are also quite easy and you could go the path of BD or Sws which are always in high demand. (but not as powerful in PvP in the long run)
This is not to say dagger or summoner is a bad choice, just to say knight seems reasonable too.
not actually my opinion, but NC suggests orc fighter for begginner players, as noted in the class descriptions. reason for this is probably so that you get used to using a slow run speed for all its worth, you start noticing bad situaions before you get into them. but when i start out on a new server i always make a light elf fighter first to do all the quests there, make a quick 200k, then make a dark elf mage and get it high enough to do the spider quest. these elves later become manor characters or get deleted, but the money they generate goes to some class that i actually intend to play as a main. i would personally never level an orc 1-20 without a bit of top-grade gear first. elves are a great way to learn the interface, and if you start with a light elf you will be more keen to know when to run from a bad situation. i also personally think new players should choose either a healer or melee as their first toon because they are not insanely borring in the pre-40 levels and you learn to do overhits, which are good practice for being a good nuker later. the entire time ive been playing the game i have seen maybe 2 nukers that were actually good at playing their class in PvE parties (i assume becasue they had started with melee classes first).
I will say that the Orc Mystic is a very easy and fun class to play as a starter character.
Explain that pls. I'd like to try a shaman myself, but every time I start one, I delete it before it even reaches lvl 15 and that's with all twinked out gear.....
Orc fighters easiest.. my ***! Among the hardest I'd say. You actually got to think about what skills to use, not to mention the 30 and 60% hp skills. Them being slow actually makes it even harder.. slow speed allows you to see incoming trouble LOL better to be fast so you can get the hell out of dodge when bad situations occur, and they will!
If you think to go dwarfs then i suggest Scavy first, get top D gear and then you can make Artisan. As i started with Artisan and it was pain in the a*s sitting and crafting shots and collecting adenas for gear. But Scavy was bretty fun, and you get a lot stuff to sell. Artisan will make actual adenas affter he/she will be WarSmith and with C grade SSD/ CBSPS recs. But even then its mostly sitting for craftshop and leveling for raising your crafting lvl. Mostly its harder to lvl without boxing it with SE or Bish.
ATM i would choose some nuker, but if you dont have adenas or friends who will loan some adenas you should make healer/buffer class, as they dont need it so mush. AS long the party loot is right. :) Get party and just buff and heal. You will get half drops/spoils/adenas and you dont need to spend adenas for shots(almost).
/sigh
Do not make a nuker as they were recently massively nerfed and more nerfs are coming in the next round of patches.
If you must make a nuker, pick the Dark Elven one or the Human Necromancer which can bypass the mana issues most mages are currently crippled with by using a spell which can trade HP for Mana.
A spellsinger literally only has 25% uptime for killing due to mana costs and horrible mana regen options. Thats right, for each 12 minutes you will be standing around or sitting for 9 to regain mana for the 3 minutes of nuking/XPing.
Bring a recharger or a good (and long) book.
Sorc are slightly better, but not much due to a low level HP for mana spell.
Just don't do it... neither sorc nor spellsinger is worth the frustration right now and especially for a new player.
Standing around for 9 minutes for 3 minutes of nuking/XPing is just plain a great way to make a new player run for the hills.

I didn't say it was a fast leveler, I said it was fun and is easy to do with no outside support. For a starter character it is nice because Shamans don't need top gear and they can farm the manor well for making adena.
I like the variety of playstyle: you can play as a nuker or you can play as a melee, you can play as a party buffer / support DD.

Dwarven spoiler is a good char to start learning the game. Good HP and PDef, and still an useful secondary toon if you decide to reroll later.
Very good advice imho. Dwarves are easier to start with since they have less skills to use in combat. Once you've learned some basics of the game, you'll be happy to try a new class who has combat skills :)
I have a question for people relative to using Scavenger / BH alts to make money...
Up to level 30 or so, I could make 500K to 1M adena per hour farming Ori Ore through the manor system with an Orc Raider alt (this was before I subbed Destroyer just to check out the play style). This is significantly more than I have ever made pure spoiling with a Scavenger of similar levels. Now I realize that I could farm seeds and spoil, but the Orc Raider was so much more fun to play than a Dwarven Scavenger and the kill rate was significantly faster.
So, is it really better to create a Dwarven alt to make money then create a main later, or to select a main that is fun to play and that can also make good money? It seems like the big adena making potential of spoiling doesn't occur until much higher levels (60+) when you can spoil A grade parts and recipes.
I have a question for people relative to using Scavenger / BH alts to make money...
Exactly where the changeover to BH being able to make money depends on two things primarily:
1)How overinflated base materials prices are.
2)How 'active' the market is on your server.
For #1, if base materials are heavily overpriced, then 'opportunity' crafts will be low/nonexistent. (Moonstone Earring crafts/BO jewels/Doom Shields for crystalizing.)
For #2, when the majority of people aren't dead set on powerleveling up a cookie-cutter gank toon, there will be a steady demand for more rare items that are not 'top of grade' or for more common items if someone is trying to OE something. (Think non-Lux shop C grade armors or even Top D armor.)
At best, you will be able to start selling key spoils around L40. (Top D armors/Jewels) Most people spoiling these however, are doing so for their own craft/sell/use. The same goes for most C grade armors. (Mammon killed pretty much the entire C weapon market.) B grade armor/recipes are pretty much the minimum these days to make any steady cash though. (Most weapon part/rec are drop or quest only though! aka Like B grade daggers!)
There are a coupel of 'sweet' spots for base material spoils sub L60....but those are exceptions. (Bone in Apostate, etc.)
For everything else....a solo nuker or manoring melee will make nearly as much or more than a BH.

First of all, it's not alts but mains what we are speaking about.
Up to level 30 or so, I could make 500K to 1M adena per hour farming Ori Ore through the manor system with an Orc Raider alt (this was before I subbed Destroyer just to check out the play style).
But could you do the same on your first toon in the game? Without knowledge of the market? Without knowing which castles had screwed their manor setup?
And by the way, how many buyshop slots did you have on your orc at lvl 40?
