If stratics doesn't give you something...the only pets that heal are kookaburra's, buffalo's and cougar's. The last being my personal favourite cause he/she/it looks so cute.
as far as the pet types go (at least currently) the only difference at all between them is their starting levels. you can also buy the "little harness" at the pet manager if you want to gear it up. however, since these guys dont really need to hit the mobs to gain xp, there aren't any weapons available. the armor is just to enable them to withstand at least one swing by the mobs (if that). make sure you bring along plenty of pet rezzes as youll probably need them.
since this is related to your question i might as well ask it here: has anyone else noticed a drop in the pets healing abilities when they turn level 40? with bsps on, my lv 39 kookaburra was healing for 81hp a shot; after it hit 40 the heals went down to 67hp with bsps. i tried unsummoning and resummoning and saw no change. killed off the bird to put it back to 39, and the heals went back up to 81. now i havent had one at level 80 in a few months, but when i did it was only healing for ~81hp as well. have their healing abilities been changed and if so, what exactly is the purpose of leveling them past 39? :p
I would like to know the same. My Destroyer is already at level 58. And the only reason for me to get one of these pets is to supplement what little healing I can get from my boxed WC, so that I can do the cats even when I'm not in a group. If the pet is not going to have the healing power, then this is not the thing for me to do.
the healing power does get better later and the pets level up pretty quick. I've heard of the heal power dropping as it levels but it goes back up supposedly.
Another question, could I get a pet with one of my lower level toons and "trade" it to a higher level toon later on? Or "sell" it? Or must I get it with the toon I plan to associate the toon with in the long run?
yes and yes, but i dont understand the quotes, the pet is a regular inventory item (for storyline purposes the item is the thing that "summons" the pet) so yes it can be sold/traded/frieghted to other characters. for the healing pets, you will need to have baby spice, wolves and sineaters eat wolf food, hatchlings and stiders have their own food.
