Im from europe and play at european times. I am in a guild with other europeans.
I just game back to lineage2 for the second time and the state of kain is even worse now then when i left. I play a bounty hunter in mid 50s..i got B-grade armor weapon and jewelry...still i can not kill a mob without having to use potions or sit down for 5 minutes after í have killed 10. If you want to solo at a decent pace in this game you are going to need your own buffers...or a group, if you don't have any of these it becomes a CHORE to level, i mean i could do this for 2 weeks, but not 2 years.
The problem is there's nobody to group with on kain(in my levelrange?) while this game definatly requires that.
Everytime i use shout to get a party i don't get an answer.
So When i run around to look for potential partymembers(always in catacombs...when i pick the wrong side it's basicly game over lol) i find the usual guys, they don't want to party because it will hurt their adena/experience-gain, thats their choice and fine with me (why would he when he has his own shilien elder and prophet buffing healing). The only way i can get some exp is by asking these people to buff my sorry azz so i can atleast exp for 20 minutes. When they are gone i can't do anything without hurting my adena, something that always plays in the back of my head because no adena=no upgrades.
Also i haven't seen alot of bots like i used to ...did they all quit because there's no1 on this server to sell their adena to?
Anyway came back to this game 3 days ago because i like it and decided to give it another shot........ but already want to throw in the towel, and not so much because of the game , but because there's nobody around to play with on the Kain server(always light pop and highest ping when i log-in). I am in hunters village right now staring at a 2 afk buff bots, 1 shop and that's it.
If i were to solo with my bounty hunter, /sitting on my *** for 5 minutes after 10 mobs 10 hours a day..i should be approaching level 78 towards the end of 2008.
I get the idea NCSOFT doesn't want me to have fun, they want me to piss off and play world of warcraft instead? that's a shame because this game is great..i just picked the wrong server and now im out of luck. Could restart on Teon or Franz but i don't want to go through the 3 months WORK this game requires when you start over, also dont want to go and buy gold. Can't my chars be transferred to Teon or Franz? if not i doubt ill be around much longer, and this time i won't be back (not a threat by the way, just stating a fact).

Yep that pretty much sums it up. Best place to get groups = a clan. Random pickup groups, in my experience, are pretty rare.
In your 50's having a clan is pretty much a must, since pick up parties disappear much after 40. It's literally where it's "at" for most people, friends and clannies.. . really makes the game the best.
I always am asking the heroes to send a shout GLF BH, and healers. All the time!
The hardest classes in the game to find at any given time is, BH, bishop, sws. I've gotten lucky lately and meet a lot of people who are sws.(being a BD, they kind of love me to)
I totally disagree on the pick up party Crap I've been hearing a lot lately. although a lot of people don't do pick up parties cause they are scared of enemy's rolling them with their gank groups.
The problem is that people only want to PvP, or supper lvl them selfs (guilty of this one). with that they aren't willing to party classes which don't aid them in their pursuit of reaching lvl 76.
I'm always looking for these classes because someplace's that are really good to hunt at are supper scary without a live healer (not a boxed toon with a main DD). DVC is one such place.
I will admit that the amount of euros on kain is insane, and kind of annoying; at lest IMO, even if no one else agrees.
but you can pick up a group, pick up group do happen. but the find Party command doesn't work, no one uses it. clans/allies are the biggest means to get a group, specially as a dwarf or healer.
I hope that these changes being done in Interlude helps, Because we mite have some people rerolling to Bishops finally.
hmmm, we have more bishops than we know what to do with in our clan on kain, 3-4 people subbed healer, is hard getting them parties....
Then turn your hero shout back on, and lesion for a yell glf healer/bh for dvc.
I usely get a group going twice a week.
Dama rec's spoils off a mob in DVC, drops off another one. you can do 2 quest there. and Mob respawn is so fast that a 9 man makes a ton of XP over 2 hours.
but I usely lead a 6 man into it, only problem is not having a BH or bishop to play with us. and I hate 2 boxing our SE in the group.
Dont think i have ever seen a hero shouting glf bh on kain, at least not the times i play.
Wish i had, i subbed bh and would love a party or 2...., esp dvc, need to finish that robe quest again, got maj and nm rec so far, looking for maj or dc next time:-)
You can reach HV also from Hardin's, which is the way I usually go. I usually ported to Hardin's from HV and soe'd to Giran to save money, anyway, so this one was easy to figure out.
You might consider starting over on another server as well... being in your 50s with the difficulties of getting into a clan that you are experiencing. With the new requirements for clans with C5, Academy members are welcomed, plus you get the clan armor, etc.

Yeah it is, it's sad. That use to be the best place to buy books
EV still drops books like a library.... I think the problem is that so few people actually keep them for any length of time, as they are hit-and-miss items to sell, each book open to only limited markets.
I am a lvl 47 BH who solo's 99% of her time. Unless I party with friends most people laugh and turn me down when looking for party. You CAN solo as a higher lvl dwarf, you just have to work it a little different.
Tell you what, stephan. I am usually on Monday to Thursday around 18:00 to 22:00 (EDT). I am also on on occasion on weekends, though I usually do clan hunts those days I will make it a POINT to go and hunt with you once in a while, if you ask me. I may not be in my 50s yet, but I am used to being dragged around in places by my clannies (*wink to Populater* ) that would normally get me killed. As long as the killing is constant and that you like chatting some, we should do fine. If you don't want a Paladin, I could still bring Alekzya who can buff, though you will have the added duty of keeping her alive (that should be a good challenge)
But again, as I told other people before, you gotta make friends on the servers. The whole POINT of being online is to be with friends, no? Help some newbies around by tanking for them, especially clerics types. Believe me, they will be grateful and remember you. Hell, I still remember that one person who made me do 20% in 15 minutes when I was level 19 with my soon-to-be-prophet, with me being perfectly safe.
I can understand that you want to be able to solo, but if your main goal is to be able to solo at any time, then either pick an area with creatures that are light blue and green or don't play online.

There are still some clans that party for fun and at the end of the evening say: "Oh I made X %, that's cool" but most clans are so focussed on perfect party's or soloing with buffbots...

I agree, besides, why wouldn't you want a BH in the group? As long as he's around the same level, he's going to spoil and your going to get extra mats and stuff!
BTW, unless they changed it in the last few days, you can still port to HV from Aden. I did it myself not 3-4 days ago. The private SB stores in HV died as soon as they removed HV from the Giran port list. Now everyone that gets books in EV goes to Giran (or Oren, but not much) to sell them. People can't come to the store anymore, the store has to go to them.
