Quick Seeding Question

This is probably obvious but I'm new to seeding so don't know.

How do I work out how much reward I get back for my crop.

Eg say I'm giving back 10 fruit (think that's the right word) for x amount of thread how do I calculate how many thread I will get.

I found a link somewhere at one point that led to a full explanation of how to work it out but I can't find it anymore and this is the only part of the seeding I can't work out.

Thanks in advance :)
(Amount of materials given back to you) = (Amount of crops you turn back) * (Buyback price) / (Base price of the material)

You can get the base material prices by trying to sell one of those materials to an NPC - they always buy them back at 50% of the base price.

If the calculation shows a non-integer number of materials returned (for example: 13.64), it means you can get either of the two possible rounding results, and the part after the decimal point decides on the chance of either (in our example: You'll get 13 materials with a 36% chance, and 14 materials with a 64% chance).
Ok I think I understand that.

As an example only:

I have 10 seed which I hand in. BBP = 200, BaseP = 400 therefore I will get 5 materials back?

You can't turn in seeds. If you had 10 crops - yes, this would be the case.
I always misuse the word 'seed' instead of 'crop/fruit' too :(
Sorry that's what I meant :o

Thanks for your help I understand now :D
eg
you have 100 fruit
fruit is worth 1k and rewards bone
you sell a bone to the shop and see they offer 50a
bone must be worth 100a
100 fruit * 1000a = 100,000a (worth of fruit)
100,000 / 100 = 1,000 bone

note prices are made up
