Im human wizzard...

thx for all :U
Pilgrims necropolis or heretics catacomb or alligator islan
There is a quest for alligator island, also another for the lizards in the Field of Whipers I think. Collect the fangs and the cargo barrels in exchange for money and mats. As you lvl you can also do the Field of Silence. the flying little snake like things are easy to shoot down ans they cool looking. Watch out for the troll like dudes and the little wolves they agro.
Spiders and Stakatos in Cruma Marshlands. Both Weak to Fire.
like loft said Cruma marshlands is a good place and if you have a friend Shilien Oracle, Elder you can try the ant nest fast respawn and fire weak too.

just don't go in too deep it really can get ugly a mage w/o mp an surrounded by alot of agro ants.

Leinruk's? Careful! Those buggers can nuke HARD.

The 'Lads are are aggro, the regular ones are not. But both are social and they nuke harder than 'normal' mobs for their level. (Leinruk's are 1/2 hp.) Even with good Mdef those things *hurt*! 1/2 Hp means they will drop pretty easy. but no matter if you are a archer, nuker or just a dwarf be cautious when pulling these mobs. Aggro a couple to many due to socialness and you could find yourself eating dirt pretty easy. (Bad hp herb drop timing, respawns, what-have-you.)

Good XP and they usually get close to just melee you...but their chance to switch attacks and use their 'uber' nuke is pretty high.

you cant find better/faster place than field of silence...I was able to one shot all the mobs there even without emp. and I was doing 2 hours/lvl. (watch out for the lizzard snipers tho...they could probably two shots u)

good luck

added: I was a human wizzard too.
get a friend and go to Hardin's private academy. really fast xp

I wish I had known that before I went there. Unless you are uber twinked (top D grade w/ OE'd staff of Life, tats, etc.). I really cannot recommend this place. Yes, they go down wiht 1 shot (most of the time). The times when teh Ogres have 3% exp after 1 shot is the time when a sniper spawns on top of you and starts going to town. Maybe it's just my bad luck, but they always start critting like crazy when you < 50% HP.

If you run out of MP here, you will die - it's quite simple. The mobs are just too dense. You cannot efficiently pick up your drops as you kill here. They die to fast and if you pick up, the respawns will catch up with you. You will die. Best thing is when you kill an archer, but there is another one behind a rock or something shooting you - but you can't even see it. Lol.

Great place to XP, but you will never break even here becasue of spawn timers. I've tried many ways of picking up thinsg and eventually realized that it just wasn't possible without risk death. I had an SO friend with me and she ended up dying beuase respawns popped on her while she was casting recharge on me.

Best place I found at level 34-37 (I'm 37 now) is Breka's Stronghold. It's a low populated area on my server and there's a closed in area up top (only one entrace/exit) with about 15-20 mobs that all die in 2 shots. You will always break at least even hunting there (spamming BSPS on every cast) and you don't have to pick up until you want, cause you will see anyone else oming into the area (only one entrance/exit). You can sit and rest/afk on the ramp cause no mobs spawn there. Hardly anyone goes up there (all the bot groups are on the bottom).

1st quest for second class change asks you to kill some of the mobs here that you will be grinding on. I think I'll be able to stay here until 38/39. I've been evaluating other spots, possibly looking for 2x HP mobs I can two shot without as much wasted damage.

Just something for future wizards who may wonder the same :)

EDIT: OH, and the best levels to hunt in cruma are from around 25-32 or so. I don't know many people who can actually stay there that long and not go insane - it's a depressing grind area and gets old fast. At 32 goto breka and do the lower area tot he right of the zonein (from Giran/GK), that will take you to 35 at which time you can move up top. Grinding is better when there is at least some Sun out :)
I stayed at Hardins whilst I was 36-38, got bored. I went to just outside Hunters Village where the Tamlin Orcs and Karic (spelling?) Bugbears are, the next two levels flew by.

I must mention I had a EO with me also.

Silence is ok, but you better have heal pots, because when you least expect it, you will get hit or aggro one too many.

Heine isn't a bad spot necessarily, but I would suggest sticking with the "Old World" spots like Cruma, Wastelands (not in the Wastelands proper, but just West of it there are green pastures filled with Tyrants and Mahum types that you can nuke all day long), and just outside of Giran. If you are going to stick with Heine, do the Field of Whispers, not Field of Silence. Feast on the Dalians, Nos and Crocs until you ding 40.

Don't go to AI until you are actually level 40 and in C grade gear. And even then, you can probably do better for yourself just hunting as a mage outside of HV, IT or SoS. AI seems more ideal for fighter-types with VR and a couple of heal pots in their pocket.

I also mention the other spots because when you hit 40 you should probably sign up for the coin collector quest and hunt those mobs. AI is great, but the alligator skin/parts quests aren't nearly as lucrative as the coin collector quest can be. Then again, maybe you like the idea of finding a hidden treasure in Heine?
here is the trick with field of silence. im sure othere poeple already noticed this but there are two types of sniper lizards and two types of shaman lizards (A and C). shaman A is social with sniper B, and not the other sniper (B and D). shaman C is social with only sniper D. if you use the little white arrow tab on the mob tag, it will have some pictures on it to tell you which is which. my biggest problem is doing the trial and error to figure out which is which, but you should only ahve to do that once to play it safe there.

So true.

My only real beef with Silence is that it isn't worth hunting there unless you are doing one of the quests. Better XP per kill to be had elsewhere, even if you are one-shotting mobs in Silence.
You could also open up the map, click the world info button, click on the hunting zone tab, and then sort the zones by lvl and then try out the different areas that are around your lvl range to see what works best for you.
I like Heine area myself. But, if a Human Wizard wants to level quick, Cruma is quite possibly the fastest, because so many of the mobs are fire-weak.
Most of the mobs you will be doing in cruma at level 36-40 are 2-shot mobs (unless u have empower on all the time and/or get lucky with magic herbs, and even still many are still 2 shot mobs).

There are other places thta give more XP/kill than Cruma with 2-shot mobs, and some 1 shot mobs with empower/HoMagic mixxed in (like Breka Stronhold).

OT: Anyone else notice ALOT of client crashes since they took the servers offline this morning for maintenance? I've crashed consistently every 20-30 minutes now...

reboot, defrag, reboot, try again
Just one question: Are those mobs 2-shot kills for a Human Wizard, which is specifically what we're talking about here. I'm not saying a I know myself, so I'm asking. (FYI, I like Breka Orcs too.)

Yea, they're mostly two shot mobs.

Death Pass, Breka Stronghold are good places to exp. Mobs are 2 shot and most give 1.9-2.3k XP a kill. Breka is best becasue there is an area that you can easily monopolize and grind fast (since you don't have to pick up cause people don't pass "through" that area, you can just pick up before you leave). You can get to Death Pass from Breka Stronhold easily :) Don't kill Fettered Souls (like 2x or higher HP, takes at least 4 shots to take them down). It also depends on your gear, I use Elven Mithril for higher MP, but with a Knowledge Set you will do more dmg per nuke due to the M. Atk. Mod. My staff of Life is also unenchanted (cause I only been in 2x-3x for about a week and I rather sell scrolls than use them on my "borrowed" gear).

Field of Silence *is* actually the fastest XP (one shot mobs, for the most part), but with those archers, you just die too easily. I'm tired of hunting there and losing 6% everytime I gain 6%. Of course, your mileage may vary.

Cruma is good enough for most people's taste, but any place where you can have an enclosed area of 15-20 mobs to yourself (and a huge safe place to rest) is better. Too many bots in Cruma, anyways - and in the best XP spots to boot (not a good place to go red, with so many raid bosses/Cruma Tower/Dion close by).

Also, all mobs on the lower level of Breka save for Orc Warriors and Overlors (only a small group of those on that level there) are non-agro - you can just run through them/sit down and not worry about them killing you. No PKers cause the place is not that populated. All the bot trains are in Cruma Marshlands.

Hardin's is another good place. 2-shot anything but the souls, and u net 1.8-2.3k XP a kill at 37. Unfortunately, two full groups of bots showed up while I was XPing there and started taking the spawns.

I killed all their healers, and any other bot that tried to rez them, Lol.

FTR, it seems that Death Pass is actually the most profitable place to XP out of all of them. Recs drop that sell to traders for 14,500a or more as well as similar cash to Breka. I was able to come out 25-30k ahead of what I spend on BSpS in Breka. I'm guessing I can double or triple that in Death Pass easily.

Remember, don't attack any Fettered Souls (they run extremely fast, swing extremely fast, and have an extreme amount of HP). They also seem Fire Resistant, but that may just be because they have so much HP.

Ciao.

I didn't attack those unless I had a magic pot drop (the lilac coloured ones). With those I could three shot a fettered soul with blaze (the xp is worth the extra shot). Without it was either three blaze and two energy bolts or four blaze which was too much MP.
LOL, Fettered Souls are EASY these days. Had more resists and HP before and aggro'd. ;)
