hey, just ordered this off direct2drive and the download is for cronicle 4 and I see that cronicle 5 is out... when my download is done... (kinda big 2gb something) will it automatically update to cronicle 5? curious... cause i just shelled out 20$ for a game and I want the latest
The biggest thing is some users are having a crashing issue. It's still early in the addressing of the issue with NC. They are currently looking for the why to the what.
I'm hoping you aren't one of the few getting it. Just off hand what type of operating system do you have? And you don't have a 64bit CPU at all do you?
Ok, just as long as I still get cronicle 5 included... the game looks really good.. I've been looking for something like AC2 for a bit... and this looks like it hits the spot... closely...
but to Splatter, naw, i have 32bit CPU.. so hopefully no crashes at all..
luckily... the only name on this pc's name is mine so its the admin account... so it sounds like I'm all set to go... except for this ungodly patch to download... thanks.
hmmm... no other way to download the patches? cause I mean I'm downloading c4 right now off the direct2drive site in the IGN download manager at a good 500kb/s
so i'm wondering how fast the patching server is... cause WOW uses a torrent system to update the game now.. and that takes forever... depending on your configuration.
Well, maybe there is a full download on file planet or something like that (this site?) and you can just use the key that you got from direct to drive?
True, but the one on fileplanet says for the trial... I dont want to end up downloading another 2.5gb file and the key not being able to work... ya know.
hey the update server is pretty good to down load the c5 and the latest updates should only take ya like 30mins to an hr at the most but the c4 game download is huge lol enjoy that one
I dl'd the one off of fileplanet yesterday (not the trial) to set up on my work laptop (lol) and after the 3 hour or so dl the updater only took a few minutes.
Much faster than when I originally bought the game and had to update overnight (about 8 or 9 hours total I think). :)
You can update from Chronicle 1 even I think with the autoupdater. It's very easy to patch to the current version. But the game is big so expect it to take a little while. Your key will not have any impact at all on which client you download since they are all the same.
Just so you know: The game client is the same no matter what type of 'account' you are using. (Trial key, Epic Collection, Original Prelude release etc.)
If you don't have the most recent 'release', your game will *always* be updated via the ingame updater to the most recent version. Full 'updates' are often pretty large and can take several hours even on a good connection (Even a few days on crappy ones or if the release is 'hot'!)
