Please, stop putting METAL HARDENER on lvl 70/80+ mobs.
I'm sorry, Im working A and S grade markets, not C grade. Nobody really crafts C grade anymore, they are pointless and I just end up NPCing them. I'm tired of my clannies yelling at me for spoiling the **** things in Pagans.
I mean, I thought the bottom of Giants Cave was stupid with spoils (Rind leather recipe on 65+ mobs? Seriously?) but the constant barrage of metal hardeners is just stupifying. Please, make it stop, I beg you.

I think when the devs run out of ideas for the spoils on new mobs, they either put in metal hardener or BO parts. The amount of mobs from which you can spoil these things is staggering...

lol no seriously. varaya is so right.
If you've ever had the chance to see the spoil table from 60+ mobs you'd be surprised at how many spoil BO parts or rec's.
A friend of mine pointed out the fact, if you take and craft a whole bunch of BO jewellery, crash it and resell the B crys. you come out 300K richer then the sell value of the BO jewels. just because of the fact that the value of the jewellery is so low because every mob 56+ spoils drops the parts for it. TOO COMMON.

No kidding.
Went to Beast farm, spoiled a bit, ARGH BO PARTS. Had a look at VoS ARGH BO. Frozen Labyrinth OMG BO SPOILS. 60-70 rift, OMG BO SPOILS 1/2 CHANCE o.O Catacombs? Hooray BO spoils! Actually it is extremely annoying in catacombs, because there are lots of mobs there which spoil BO parts, and sometimes several of them are in the same room. So if you get one of these rooms and all the other rooms are occupied, you will practically ONLY get BO parts...
Seriously, they must think players really, really like BO pieces...
But I have to agree, the Metal Hardener spoils make even less sense. BO is annoying, but at least the mobs are somewhat close to the level where you might still use BO (though you probably already have a full set when you go spoil high 60 mobs). But Metal Hardener spoil from mid 80 mobs? A material which is ONLY used for C grade crafts? Do they think the 76+ spoiler dwarves then go to Giran, sit down and sell the metal hardener to lowbies who want to craft their C grade? I don't think so...
Elven jewelry recs and bits spoil on an insane range of mobs too, like in orc barracks to the wasteland, the AC, Cruma swamps, EG, the orcs north of giran, etc etc.
The whole spoil system is pretty bad. I finally decided to take my dwarf to BH. When I made it I thought I could at least start collecting stuff to craft top D weapons and make me a bit of adena. As far as I can tell from Stratics the only top D weapon that spoils both the parts and the rec(Because most likely there arent many WS's that have D weapon recs in there book) is the light crossbow. The rec was pretty easy to get. Just spoiled on a few portas and got it fairly fast. Then I went off to the one mob it say spoils the key mats for it. These mobs are in tanor canyon. Those mobs that travel in groups. So I would run in and try to spoil the one I needed and then kill off the rest. In 2 hours spent there not 1 of these mobs turned blue. I have to say I was pretty annoyed. They didnt even have to give me the key mat at this point. Just turn blue and give me SOMETHING! But nothing. Im sure high level BH's have more experience then me. But this was not fun at all. After only 44 levels I have retired my BH.
What about the recs. I have a feeling I would need to give the rec to a WS to have the top D weapons crafted. I really doubt anyone has those in there books.

I'd be happy to do it for you but yeah, I'd need the recipe.
lol see thats what im saying. I can only find one Top D weapon that spoils both. Right now im not to sure if thats accurate. I spent 2 hours grinding on this mob for no spoils what so ever.

OK, I asked my friend about this, he said the best luck he had was the recipe for the Scallop Jamadhr. It spoils from the Taik Orc. So he went after that until he got the rec then he went after the edges. Of course he also has a crafting dorf, so yeah you might have to make friends with an artisan.
Nice.Thats good info. I normally dont try to complain about stuff. But you think it would make sense if you can spoil key mats you could also spoil the rec? or vise versa? Poor dwarf is just a punching bag in seiges. So a nice set up for spoils would be great. But thats all been said before I know. The op pointed out spoiling BO parts at high levels. I would think after grinding a dwarf that high that kind of thing would be terribly dissapointing.
Its rather funny that stems are more sought after these days than a lot of other mats. All these people with Archer main/subs need arrows and are always asking for stems.
The spoil tables in L2 need a complete rewrite from the ground up, but it will probably never happen. The really great part? They took A grade blades out of the 70s mobs spoils and put them all over 80+ mobs. I have an easier time spoiling S grade blades than I do A grade.
As a Bounty hunter, it is incredibly important to have access to a site we can not mention here just for the drop lists and %. I couldnt live without it personally.

You might need to delevel him a bit, but don't give up. Friend of mine is a BH, I just talked to him and he told me the following
Glaive Edges spoil from Dire Wyrms (lvl42)
Scallop Jamadhr Edges spoil from Dailaon Lads (lvl42)
since top D grade weapons can be traded for other top D grade weapons for free with Mammon, you only need one of them to get what ever type you want.
Ugh. I did Dire Wyrms for the BSPSC recipe a while back....I got maybe 1-2 Glaive edges in that entire time. I would seriously rethink trying to farm those for the edges.
As for the Scallop J. edges...spoil rate is infinitely better...but the area is proportionally nastier. Lots of Multi HP mobs with tough attributes. Not a place I would want to solo with a Dwarf at all. Your going to need a party or some high level OOP buffers at a minimum for those.
I agree that the spoil tables make no sense whatsoever and should be completely redone.
Higher level bounty hunters should spoil high level parts and materials instead of basic materials (e.g synthetic cokes instead of coal, mithril alloy instead of mithril ore). And mobs should spoil parts and recipes of grades appropriate to the levels of the players that would be killing those mobs.
The loot tables in the game dont make sense. The best items in the game shouldn't come from level 40 mobs (e.g. ant queen ring).
There is a sense in gettin a "only for C weapon crafts" (aka Metal Hardner) from 70+ mobs.
At lvl 70 your just 5 lvl away from lvl 40.
This is a really stupid point of view, atlest imo.
I newst to have a BH before I rerolled servers, I quit him after I got him to 48. Because mainly that the mobs wouldn't light up blue when spoiled.
I recently requipted a bh on my acc now thats lvl 60, took her to witches, spoiled up adamenty parts, while at the same time got EA/b, at about 1 per buff round, and BO parts.
then I took her to Martyrs. not only are these mobs about lvl 65, but they are pink and yellow to my lvl 60. I spoiled up, if they would spoil, and when they did spoil most wouldn't flash. I got BO parts, some basic, and low and behold Metal hardner. While those same mobs droped a Spirital eye Rec. which for those that don't know it is a A/g weapon.

****. I must have like 5k of them in WH...
14,765 in mine
hard to believe but one of the first mats i ever manored was stem
back when the manor system was owned by third party programs you could farm stem and sell it back to the shop for a profit
well i think only about 1k of that 13k is from manoring when i was 40+
the rest are all from drops and considering i actually use stem to craft stuff......
Simple rewrite of table take half the mobs that spoil BO parts and give us Coal, Bone, Vanish at least then we can make something out of them like the VoP for the BO jewels that we can crush for crystals. It is stated that after level 55 you will now be not spoiling anything of use to craft with. But when you get all the other stuff people will sigh and grumble. I mean it takes determination to spoil at beast farm to go for those helmet rec, and it is a headache when they say when will it happen. Hmm I think I will look in my crystal ball....Ah yes when and if we are lucky number 34,598 but don't look now there is a BH in the other field and she wants that slot too! Oki all off the soap boxes, didn't NcSoft tell us that we where the adena makers of the game, it why we fet so few skills!
Yes, I am getting extremely sick of seeing black ore parts on every mob out there. Will it change? Probably not since NC loves to shaft dwarves as much as possible. What ever happened to dwarves being the money making class of L2? Everyone has equal opportunity now and we've got no compensation in return. :(
Its getting to be a pain in the *** to get majestic jewlery peices><
Something is so not right when I have to go spoil lvl 80 mobs to get stupid gems to craft majestic jewlery......
Yeah, that seems to have been a change in C4, moving top A grade parts to lvl 80+ mobs. I would have less issue with this if the level disparity was not so large. 10 levels above grade I can understand, but fully 20 levels? And especially at the top end of the scale? Its far too harsh.
I can understant making them rarer spoils, I do not expect every mob to go blue and spoil an A grade part, but I do expect that I am able to get them without having S grade mastery already.
Perhaps these metal hardener spoils were supposed to be Durable Metal Plates? That would make more sense, as they are fairly rare in terms of mobs that can spoil them(did you know? A level 34 mob and a 39 mob spoils DMP). DMPs are the backbone of A grade weapon crafting, and currently it is pointless to go spoil farm them, simply due to the lack of mobs that have it.
We all know that the value of a bounty hunter tails off in the mid 60s. You are reduced at that point to spoiling Enchant scrolls which tend to have near the same rarities as full drops. So you essentially become a dead class from 65-75 (some of the worst levels in the game to be a solo melee). Around 75 you gain some value since you can work the L room in Imp Tomb for Tateo parts. Once you class change again into Fortune Seeker, I suppose things can get better as things with A and S parts start changing from red to yellow/white and your spoils start to land(Is spoil crush also a higher level of spoil? I'm not there yet to know). But we are left in the lurch at the exact wrong time, the last critical levels before the end game. Those last 10 levels are when people stop caring about what the BH can get for them, and have tunnel vision for 3rd class change or sub class which turns them into perfect party grinders which rarely includes a BH.
Myself and the girlfriend just had a blitz on the jewellery on all our toons. We had to make 15 sets of BO jewellery and spoiled all the parts in a week, as well as manoring the most of the other materials.
We'll have another 7 sets to make soon enough so hold off on changing those spoils just yet. ;)
BH's are fine.
We are only ranting about 2-3 things that are semi unimportant in the grand sceme of things. BHs are designed to gather mats and thats whay they do. If you ever do get your BH to lvl 60, you will probably have no problems getting your A grade.
BO parts you get too much off, Maj parts to hard to get when you need em, mold hardner and dmp you get at wrong lvls.
Yes, the Class itself is fine. It is the spoil tables of the game that are NOT fine. Good spoils tend to be clumped together in certain level ranges, and once you move out of that range, you are kinda screwed for a while till you hit the next range. It is just the 65-75 range that is mind numblingly boring as a melee going solo. It is worse if you are still the hybrid tank/dd because you cant decide on tattoos like me :)
If my BH wasnt my main, I'd not play it either normally :P
Well my BH is far from my main, but as she is needed, I play her more then once a week.
And she has good luck crafting in people's private creation and selling items as well, so she has her purposes.
