Run along the road from Dion to Gludio, from there head north along the road to The Neutral Zone(watch out for Romulans). Then choose whether you want to go to the light side(east) or Dark Side(west). If you need a map hit ctrl+m and you should be able to see where you are. If it is zoomed in because you are in town there is a little +/- in the bottom right that will zoom you back out to world view.

If your asking the question you probably have insufficient adena to port back to darke elf/ elven village. I used to walk all the time. Once your in a I new town area you can use scroll of escape to shorten your trip. btw you will know what are you are in by typing /loc

Another good reason to walk instead of use the gatekeeper (besides saving the gatekeeper fee) is every now and then you will find adena and mats and stuff lying out in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes you find a LOT. Plus, you often have adventures running that you miss when you gk.

No kidding. I found over half a million adena in coin and mats in my favourite "adena field" the other day.
im sure that you dont have to walk that far just use the newbie coins you have being given since all newbie characters as well any other character made in accounts have the benefit of free porting.

that day I saw 3m worth of stuff laying on my favorate grinding place...I had no other choice but picking them up because they were lagging my computer hella bad...and yes, I did spent over 30 minutes to pick them up.

If you find scrolls of escape are too expensive (they were too expensive for me when I was new), try to /unstuck .. takes 5mns but it's free.

The Newbie travel tokens only work to and from the starter villages.
