I have almost gotten my WC leveled up to start using as a boxed buffer with my Destroyer. I have been using my Destroyers GS to get leveled up, but now I'm going to have to get a separate weapon. What to go with? Due to mana issues, I would prefer to go with a B grade weapon that gives a boost to either mana level or mana regeneration. However, I haven't seen that there is such a B grade weapon. So, I am thinking the next best thing is to get a dagger to help bring down the mobs. Before I commit to anything, I just want to see if anybody has any information or recommendations that would help me decide. FYI, I will start using my WC as a boxed buffer at lvl 58.
If your going to use your WC as a buffer wont he have enough mana if you shove him in robes? Then you could go with any waepon you want.
I know my bf's WC cant give full buff in one go in heavy, hes just short of mana for the last 2 buffs. If he had robes on, he would have more than enough mana.
Im still a bit confused why you would have mana issues?
If I could have some mana left over for heals, sleeping, etc, it would be a nice bonus. (Not that the WC will ever be able to do that as a primary role, when casting buffs takes so much of the mana.)

WC buff for so little mana... don't think too much about how much you would have over! Just stagger - i.e. when your party leaves town put up half the buffs then 10 minutes later put up the other half.
Also, if your regeneration is not so good, get light armour instead of heavy - offers better MP Regen to buffer. ^^
Staggering got a few advantages for WC: First, it's easy - much much easier than for prophet etc. You will never need to 'bookmark' a buff set you don't give yourself, you will never have to remember who gets what...
Second, it's fast! If you stagger, you won't be 'out of commission' for too long if you need to rebuff during an emergency - and it won't hurt the group as much when buffs go either.
Lastly - it keeps your MP more steady (this what you were looking for I think ^^) across the buff cycles, since you have two smaller dips rather than one big one... or if you feel experimental, for a WC you can even stagger in three sets or something like that if your MP Is ultra low for some reason. xP
Before this was a bit of a problem with summoners - but with new duration on servitors it's no biggie I think. Only your group might get mad since they can't start leaving 'at the end of the buff cycle' anymore. :p
My WC was in Blue Wolf robes sporting mace of the under world w/mana up. I was able to run full buffs with 700mp or so left over. That worked fine till 73 when we were able to buy tallum robes.
If mana is really an issue, get Conversion weapon (like Mace of the underworld for C Wizard's tear for B), buff, switch to normal weapon for fighting. Before buffs run out, pop out conversion weapon, regen the rest, buff, switch to fighter weapon ...
:/ Why would a WC need a mana up weapon... just ... stagger... they can even buff fine in heavy (regeneration issues aside) as far as MP pool is concerned. ><

Ten minutes without full buffs every ... what... hour now? 80 minutes? Just put the less important buffs for summons in the stagger that they'll be missing.
All good ideas, and thanks. The only problem I see with staggering is the very first buff cycle, when people have to do without. Mace of the Underworld or a Conversion weapon also sound like good ideas.
There is usually some running in the first buff cycle - start the first stagger before you're at the level spot proper, then do the second right away. Adjust the time between them to ten minutes in the next go.
I had a conversion weapon on the WC also but it likes to aggro things and well..die. If its in a safe spot by all means go for that conversion weapon. But I would use the WC to heal my parties in the rift...does wonders.
What I cant comprehend is if hes going to use his wc as a BOXED BUFFER why doesnt he just shove the WC is robes. You should have plenty of mana left for the occasional heal/sleep whatever. Do remember that they do have a pretty good mana regen rate.
Well, the WC will be in robes. I'm just looking to see if there is any other mana advantage I can get. If I can can additional mana advantages, great. If not, I will have to work within the restrictions of what I can do. (And when I get to A grade, I plan on getting a Saparion's Staff with Mana UP SA.)

WC buff for so little mana...
It depends. In parties, yess, its little mana, but 2-2.5k mp to buff 1 person, that one is allot.
And, actualy at about lvl 56 or at next skillup I didnt have neoughf mana in heavy without -men tatoos to do ALL the buffs. Well, I rarely needed ALL of them at once, since evasion is useless for many classes and mdef is also situationaland solo/duo you can do 1 target sheild instead..
My boxed WC has been in robes with a +8 homoc/Acumen since its 40's, i've never had a problem. That's all i can attest too. Personally, i'll take the casting speed and MP increase in the robes.
One thing i havn't heard anyone say, is to just do a full buff and sit for a minute before you start to kill, if you really need the extra MP to start your round. Staggering is more complicated then it has to be. Generally, after all your buffs, even directly afterwards, you'll have enough for a heal and a couple of sleeps. That always worked well for me.
Well, yes - for up to 3 people, prophet buffs cost less mana. :/ After that it breaks already - I wish the breaking point was at a 6 or 7 man group, that'd make it a bit more fair (IMHO) - especially considering the speed difference of buffing with the two, even in robes. ><
you don't need them, each + is a 1% difference roughly while a wit tatoo is a5% difference +5 wit -5 men. You can't touch int so if you raise your men you'll make yourself even slower which is the last thing a WC needs.
I agree. Orc mystics have amazing mp regen, and don't even suffer much from -4 men. Which is what I have. I can buff and sleep mobs and have full mana at the end of a buff round (I don't heal a lot, since there's usually someone better at that present). Of course I can't sleep an obscene amount of mobs and still have enough, but you know, as many as I need to :) I'm currently in majestic robes. If things have gotten a little crazy I do need to sit for a few minutes.
