I can't figure out where these are dropped, I have searched several databases from the most popular l2 sites (I won't link to them since I think thats against the rules) but it appears these drops are "fairly" new and so they aren't in any database I can find. Hoping I might find some help here. Thx in advance.
I beleive both are dropped from the frost buffalo in the frozen labrynth. If you use a skill on them they change to a different mob with a different drop table.
Yep that is correct
The drop rate is horrible so be prepared to be there for a very long time.
Dont use ANY skills on them unless you want to face a very agry group of mobs ><
Spellbook: Greater Shield drops from the frost buffalo and the Spellbook: Greater Might drops from the Frost Iron Golem.
the buffalo has to be done by AoE classes so you have a better change to get one, single killing is a waste of time you have to make him morph into more buffalos.
I killed the buffalos one by one, and in an hour i got 3 greater shield SB. It ain't that bad droprate, betray was much worse.
I had to farm 38 books out in the Labyrinth. It took about a week of playing in the evenings. Greater Shield is far harder to get than Greater Might. Be prepared to kill a lot of those Frost Buffalos. And, as people have said before, do not use skills on them or you won't get the drop and you will have about 7 mobs beating on you instead of one.
Greater Might ain't that hard to get from the Lost Golems. There is three of them (some areas have two groups) and they respawn very fast.
Greater Shield on the other hand, took me 3 or 4 days (about 20 hrs pure grinding) before I got my first. Of course less then 10 minutes later I got a 2nd...
