they are used to put special abilites on weapons (excluding duals) from C grade and above.
talk to any blacksmith to find out what level of soul crystal and colour and additional fees required to put one of the 3 available Special abilities on your C grade or higher NonDual.
they are available in exchange for C and D crystals at the Giran luxury store.
So anyone can fill them up, so to speak, but they can only apply to a limited amount of weapons.
Thanks. I'll have a read of what the blacksmith has to say. I have duals though so I'm not sure the expense of 3m for another, just to find out, is worth it yet.
Duals are special
Starting at C grade they can have a SA. However, you dont need a crystal nor can you use a crystal to give them a SA.
The SA kicks in automatically when they are enchanted to +4 or more. Since they can only be safely enchanted to +3, this means there is a degree of risk going +3 -> +4. There is 33% chance of failure, and if it fails it goes BOOM, and you loose everything, and you left with crystals
Crystals worth half the dual crystal count roughly. You can check a website to see exactly what you get back, but that website is not an official one so i will not post it here.
Breaking duals is bad, but the work included in getting SA on a regular weapon starts out beeing moderately easier and then gets harder and harder.
