Anyone who knows the formulas for stats and buffs and how they apply to skills please inform me on these 2 areas.
1. is there a limit to sheild block rate?
What would sheild block rate be for a DA with dex tattoos, bless sheild 6, advance block and say doom pa? I know da sheidl block rate got abit of a nerf early on, but should it not be rather high in the config I offered above? any idea of what percent this would be?
2. ATK SPEED. is there a maximum in game atk speed?
Say BD in Tallum with haste2, zerk, dual kesh, and pof with dacne of fury. is there a max atk speed where the extra buffs are simply not applied? or does it keep goin up?
Reason for question is I wonder if sheild block rate can be maxed and if so what is that max rate. Seems like da with the above config for maxium sheild block rate should be blocking many more hits then what I see during combat. Would appretiate any input as to how the sheild block rate is effected by the buffs and armor effects and how it is applied in combat. Thanks
1. Not that I'm aware of. High level tanks can block pretty much every time. Advanced block does, despite the description, not add block rate. The shield block rate for a DA in all that should be somewhere around 90% - maybe more, maybe less, but it's not well understood how DEX factors into shield blocks ... and of course, the other factors (facing being very important for human tanks, as well as attacker's weapon type and attack mode).
2. There is no hard cap as far as I'm aware, but there is a soft cap - there's just only so much you can do for your attack speed.
No not a hard cap to my knowledge i was planning on calculating it on l2p but i've whittled away far too many hours there since i discovered the enchanting tables.
Edit: alright so lets assume the setup he gave up and assume max dex on the tats so 35 dex on DA
so Shield Block Rate = Base Shield Block Rate*DEX Modifier*Shield Mastery*Buffs*Set Bonus according to L2p which is pretty darn good. I couldn't find a rate on the site for advanced block
.2*1.15*2.00*1.8*1.24=1.027
So assuming max shield mastery and bless shield you get a number above 1.0 which would indicate that every hit SHOULD be blocked even without max buffs. I have never seen any formula for level dependence or anything like that and while i'd assume that excellent defense is based on this same number i don't think there's any data to back that up.
I wonder if the formula for resistances is like how it is in eve... it takes the % of what's unresisted and uses that instead of the % of your resistance. that way you will never reach 100%.
like
25% base resist.
add something that gives 50% resist so 50% of 75% is 37.5%
you now have 52.5% resist. add another 50% resist .. 50% of 47.5% is 23.75%... 76.25%... etc etc.
I don't think it works like that in l2 but it would be interesting if it did.
