"wise man" status in clan hierarchy?

Hello I was checking in the library part of this site, NC ranks all statuses but wise man. So how do you make someone wise man in clan and where does it stand in clan hierarchy (for clan skills etc...)
Wise Man is the leader of the clan. Either you start the clan yourself or the current leader has to transfer leadership to you.
NCSoft translation is not consistent everywhere. "Wise man" = "Elder".
Wise man is leader + every member thats on Rank 5.
all these on a clan lvl 5 or above. @ clans lvl 4 or less, Wise man is only the leader
Wise Man (=Elder) is a clan leader of a lvl 5 clan, or a captain of a royal guard in a lvl 6 clan, or every direct clan member (not guard unit member or knight unit member) of a lvl 7 clan, or a member in a royal guard in a lvl 8 clan. Leader of a lvl 4 clan is a "knight".

See here (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/clans.html) (scroll down a bit to the ranks).

Are you sure? As I recall from Mythology and Science Fantasy, a man with certain capabilities would be refered to as a "wise man", whereas a woman with the same capabilities might be refered to as a Witch! hrmmmm....maybe that wouldn't be so bad after all.......

Then of course there is "Knight" and it's female equivalent "Dame". Lots of folks might not know that one.

Of course, being a "Baroness" would be cool or a "Dutchess"

I'm starting to like your idea.....

Dame, is like a 1950's term in the US, which would be rather insulting now ;)

Is "Broad" still okay?

And if "Toots" is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

Dame is actually (in my native dutch language) the exact word for a lady.

/Randomness.

On topic, indeed I'd like to see Shillien Eldress for example, most NPC's think all chars are male as well.

It is a 1950's slang term however, it is also the title of a female Knight, still in use today in Brittish Royalty.

Dame >the title of a woman awarded any of various orders of chivalry or merit, for example, the Order of the British Empire, by a sovereign or government

This has bothered me since Beta...

When an NPC, almost always a male NPC I might add, addresses me as "young man", I want to shove my Dragonslayer somewhere he won't like very much...

LOL! I sort of like toots but that's me.

There's even one quest, judgment of healer I believe, that assumes all healers are going SE. The DE npc by the altar says something like "if you pass this test you earn the title of shillen elder".
Pretty funny when i did that quest with my Temple Knight..apparently i was gooing Shilien Elder :P

I whonder how you tell that to Eva ^^

Fine then, I'll be the one to demand gender-appropriate titles and dialogue, both IC and OOC!

The dialogue, especially, shouldn't be that hard. A simple if/then check of the character's gender when NPC dialogue is initiated, with alternate male/female versions of the text available, is all it takes. If its a male character, you get the text for guys... ie, "Go forth, young man, and slay 1000 Windsus!"... if the character is female, you get "young lady" instead. It's *not* that hard.

"Go forth, young man, and slay 1000 Windsus!"... if the character is female, you get

"Go forth, young lady, and pick 1000 Daffodils!"? :)

My main is a DE female. I just assume the NPCs are messing up and using male pronouns because they're so fixated on staring at her chest that they forget how to speak English.
I play a male elf.

I'm amazed by the NPCs' ability to recognise my gender correctly...
there are no male elves... so wth are you talkin about?

"Go forth, young lady, and pick 1000 Daffodils!"?

Hey, if it rewarded me A-jewels, I'd let the gender sterotyping slide and pick flowers....
