I'm looking through the support site, but have not been able to find a number and I don't want to wait till the next business day for an e-mail response.
I think that on your playNC account, you should get an e-mail if anyone changes any of the information on there.
I've just got back in, reset my L2 password and I got an e-mail saying that my password had been changed, please contact nc soft support if this was not you.
If I'd have got an e-mail saying someone's reset your playNC account I may have been able to stop this.
Anways, I'm on Hindemith if anyone wants to try and help me get back on my feet.
To anyone I've ever offended on the forums, I'm truly sorry, spare a coin? I was once like you.
True. However, I've had an attempt on my account once and I've never shared info with anyone...thankfully it was caught in time. Also there is that 10% that don't share and still get hacked.
The legit victims are who I was referring to. Those who have shared their account in the past, its their own **** fault.
I mean the master plaync account. I think someone brute forced my password, changed the contact e-mail address and then reset the L2 password.
The e-mail notification of L2 reset would've then gone to the other e-mail address.
It's the only thing I can think of that would prevent me getting the e-mail saying you're passwords are / have been changed.
When I tried to log into L2 and couldn't, I tried playNC and couldn't. I then tried the forgot password link, put in my acct name and DOB but the secret question had been changed.
So it was my playNC acct that was hacked in my opinion.
If I'd got an e-mail saying your playNC acct has been changed (the one that contains partial c/card info *yipes*) then I may have been able to act sooner.
That's what I changed. The email went out before I could even get in to change the email address (if I wanted to). Like I said, I don't know why it didn't work for you. I may try again later and see what happens.
I am on Hindemith and would help you out but I'm pretty much broke these days.
Here's what I received:
Someone at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx has reset your PlayNC Master Account password for account [deleted]. If you did not make this change, please contact support immediately at [email protected].
I logged into playNC and changed the contact e-mail address to my work e-mail address.
Your PlayNC email verification code is: xxxxxxxxx
If you have already completed registration please log in to PlayNC at https://secure.plaync.com/cgi-bin/plaync_login.pl and click the VERIFY EMAIL link next to your contact information on your account management page.
If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact [email protected].
Put that code in and reset L2 password - it e-mailed my work e-mail address with the warning.
I'd say an essential security feature is an e-mail being sent to the old e-mail address warning that the contact e-mail has been changed.
Please continue to work with the Support Team to discuss your account. I also recommend that anyone who hasn't read the Security FAQ (http://www.plaync.com/us/support/doc_993.html?p_faqid=993) might want to take a look for tips for protecting your information. Thank you!
