S/g armor is lame. all of it! seriously, Drac is only dc but with higher P df. IC +2 str -2 dex lame!! add's shield df. I guess thats good for tanks but does nothing for bd's, glads, or destro's.
Only thing thats good in S/g is Drac bow. maybe the dagger(SA wise) for weapons. I don't see much of anything thats going for 100m+ (rec wise) other then the drac bow rec.
Of course nukers will take the mace, but thats because thats all nukers have available to them.

heavy is a tank set, and not a very good one at that -dex?
not sure about light cause i never really checked but i see archers and daggers wearing it so it cant be too bad
robes are gimp but thats only compared to dc which is about the most overpowered armor set in game
nukers will take the mace because it has acumen and higher mattack. as far as nukers go thats basically all they want

but yeah S need optimizing in weapons and armor they are not super compare to A gear
talking about A stuff the SA's on most A weapons are crap to where are the focus A duels ? SOM with acumen Bah see them more then anything ells what about the Elemental sword upgrade give it a SA acumen i find it preaty sad the art of this sword is great but totaly useless in use
