Any Way to play Solo Here?

Player Questions Started Last reply 35 posts
I ask this because it seems as a solo player my players level excceeds his or her items by 10 to 1. This means by the time im level 30-35 ill still have only Magic tunic for my mage, because items cost to much for a solo player to upgrade. Due to the fact i must fight monsters at 25-30 level the items i have dont put a dent in them. Fighting lower monsters dont give any more gold due the the level penlity. Thus forcing me to buy costly soulshots/spiriteshots to break even on collections. Breaking even dose not help becuase the player keeps advancing in levels and the armor/weapon dose not :(

My only option im running with right now is killing my player down to level 18 min. Then doing all the adena darkelf quests. Only down side to this is im competing with 75 bots on the spidernest and about 30 bots on the ivory tower quest lol.

This same snag is happening to my assassin. Right now ive ended up keeping a non d-grade suit and a low d-grade suit for when i go past Level 19 lol. I had a ideal that maybe they can have a program in the system that would detect a solo player and increase there loot gain. Down side to this is sence they allow bots and dont bust them they too would benifit :( . Is botting my only solution to gain finacial stability For a Solo game player? I was excited to play the game but now im kinda down.

your invisable pal From server {Erica}
Academies can hook you up with some very good Dgrade sets, you might want to look into that.
Yay i need something like a loaner item lol. just to get me moving into collecting decent loot/adena for a short Time. Something to get me on my feet, where i can buy my own stuff then return what was lent. WE Need a Lenders SHOP lol.
For many of us that played in the betas and early chronicles, this was how it was. We wore mismatched non-grade into our 20's, and might have a complete d-grade set by the time we were 40.

The only things I can suggest are to use the manoring system, find quests that give items/adena (not xp) as rewards, and get into a clan that can help you out.
Meate has sound advice - and I'd like to add one here. Play a summoner. They are less gear dependant than any other class, and rerolling into a nuker if you decide you don't like it will be fast - plus, summoners are good with the manor, while nukers are not.
This is the best advice so far in this thread. The clan oath armor is very good armor at the price. Some clans may even be willing to cover the cost of the armor for you just to have you go through the academy and graduate, which provides them with @400 Clan Rep Points.
the problem i have now with the non-exp adena runs is the bots have the field cleaned of what is needed to complete the quests. i have a level 27 assassin, and a level 27 darkWizard. The dark wizard is 10x better then the assasin at the moment only because she can deliver more damage. Only down side is its mana based lol. So in short it is impossible to Solo from all the so far advice. I now understand why the bots have a profitable organization. alot of players must get frustraited and give on on there goal and buy adena from them..
mannor system...and find mobs that you don't use ss on, so you can saave money....as quoted many times...to ways to level in this game....level fast = broke....or money = slow level
You talk a lot about getting better armour but don't mention what weapon you have. If you don't worry about what armour you have you can then put your money into getting a top grade weapon, once you have that you can hunt better mobs and get better rewards.
This is the way I've been playing, I don't belong to a clan and spend most of my game time soloing.
You have it much easier than people in pre c2 days. Remember this about L2, there are two ways you need to play this game. One, you grind for lvls and for-go items. Second, you grind for adena and get the items you wish for. You need to find the happy medium. joining a clan helps speed up both processes signicantly. In a clan just be nice, sociable and PATIENT! You will find the game much more enjoyable.

P.S. If you like to solo a lot and still want to be in a clan, pm here. My clan is mostly solo part time players.

WE Need a Lenders SHOP lol.

No, you need a clan and a bit of loyalty;)
Really, the'yll very likely add you to academy, when you graduate within clan, main clan gets reputation points. And it could happen that you meet with some nice players or their lowbie alts there and establish some relationships.

what's your name on erica?

Meanie.
I've only been playing L2 for a few months, so I can sympathize with the OP. However the one thing I found that was the most helpful of anything was these forums, specifically the Player Guides section. The people here in the L2 community who have been playing this game a long time have written some EXCELLENT guides on how to get started.

Out of all of them, the one tidbit I was able to get is this: This is an adena driven game. Don't worry about exp and levels, you will always need adena to progress. It is much better to kill 30 light blue mobs quickly with one or two hits and get lower exp than to kill 3 reds and have to sit around to regen mana or go broke on soul shots and heal potions.

The other thing is this: as a starting character, do EVERY starter quest there is, and the ones that are repeatable and give adena, repeat them as often as possible.

The following links are to the guides I found most helpful:

and all of L2 Stratics, but especially The Quest Guides (http://lineage2.stratics.com/content/library/quests/ ) where you can locate quests near your level that pay the most adena!

Another thing: always upgrade weapon first, then armor. As a new character, use the equipment upgrade at the shops to get top no-grade gear for only the difference in price of what you have. Doing the starter weapon quest will get you something you can use all the way to level 20 for free.

Until you are at least in your 30s, RUN to your locations, don't use the teleporter. It's a money loser. Don't forget, there are exp grinders just as there are adena grinders. The exp grinders will often clear out an area of mobs but leave the drops behind. If you are teleporting to your locations, you will never see great fields of adena spread out all over the lands of Aden and Elmore. And it's all yours free for the picking up. There are nights that I just want to see the country side, so I'll take off on a run between towns, and pick up tens (hundreds) of thousands of adena just laying there. So you would lose the money it costs to teleport, plus the money you lost by not being there to pick it up.

You can port after you've made your billions!

Hope something in this helps!
the weapon i have is crap to, sence i cant afford a weapon at 1 to 2 million + i have to settle for the 200k to 515k armor. i think the max damage my weapon dose is 32p.att and 35 m.att {priest sword i beleave} thats why ive been leveling down to increase the adena on lower monsters. im forced to use items from my other players if i want to play around.

I'm thinking about making a oricle/buffer. Thats kinda how ive been playing the game lately. Ive been making new players and once they reach a certian level i almost give up on them :( .

My players i use the most are SisterTollin who is under level 20 making me money. My other i play with is Mayln my assassin, who is over level 26 and cant make a dinme lol.
ill look for you and pm you. thanks for the info all
I can relate to your problem, though the advice given is very good - most of which I had to learn through trial and error lol. I played beta/C1 but just recently came back (with not much adena and a low lvl char). I realized that although I want to level quickly, it's just not possible with my funds, etc. My clan has been wonderful though, providing me with crystals for my summons and a complete set of D and CG gear. This has allowed me to save up for BG on my own.

Patience really is a virtue. Look around for good deals, take your time (not using the teleporter has saved me a lot). I hardly use shots, or potions, or anything other than my pet. At 45 I've made almost 9 mil. It's not a ton, but it got me two pieces of BG :)
It's tough for everyone to make money i used a cedar staff till 28 and devotion robes till 36. I still use doom light.
dude, make a DE fighter.

kill the zombies till your 18.

do the lvl 10-12 quest for weapons, you get more shots, and lesser hp pots. make 7 DE's like this if you have to and just do it over and over.

by the time your 20, and you got the toon you want, give him all of the extra money and gear, let him sell it off, and make some money.

you'd be surprised, but recycling your gear, and doing that a few times can net you alot of money.

Learn the mannor. by the time your lvl 18 you should beable to figure it out. and use it.

at 20 get a clan that will help you get clan oath armor. which IMO is better then what some think is top D.

then use your own money to make money, and envest in shots.

Make your own warsmith, you will need it for crafting your own shots. and will save you a lot of money in the long run. WS's can still spoil the Dss rec's.
i forgot to add i play alot with my player Soloris {level 27 darkwizard} at the moment she has jewlery of devotion D-grade, shop items. cursed tunic and legs of knowlege. most everything on her is d-grade. just she blows off her mana just trying to kill 5 to 9 monsters that are colored in the light white. thats what i kinda ment by her skill outweighs her ability to get money going{for better weapons} The dark elf fields are flood with bots so 2 quests there are outa the question. i did the bones one, but lastnight i gave up almost. took me 1 hour to get that quest done. the skeletons dont drop the bones ever lol. i can get the spider one done just outside of the school of dark arts, no bots there.

Her weapon is {Priest sword} ive had that sence she was level 21. So if your on erica today ill try and be logged in as soloris. probly catch me often around the dark elf villiage lol, the story of my gaming life to live there heheh. cya around
My way to get a demon fangs at lvl 21.

Get a lvl 14 dwarf fighter and go near RoD.There are shield skeletons that spoil 2 animal bones.Get a few k of em.Together with this there is a quest (Grim Collector) for them also. Aaaaand on top of that you can farm varnish from the manor (i think it was varnish) do this for 3-4 days and you will get your top d weapon (depends on server prices on materials)<forgot to mention skeletons are weak to blunts and there is a quest for 1 at dwarven vilage (you can upgrade it later on).Oh and you get buffs so you should be 1-hitting the mobs!

Materials are always sold in Giran and nowhere else!

Also DO NOT upgrade past the devotion set!Use it till lvl 40 (if you can get karmian) or till 60 (if you learn how to play good with your nuker)

Forgot to add :( when your spoiler gets to 20 go and start hitting the guards -->till you are lvl 14 again.

1 animal bone is 800 adena on Teon so if you have 1000....well you get the picture.
when the gms once in a month ban the bots killing the zombies is a option. Now there are about 50 of them out there and there at full speed. you cant find a zombie even at 2am in the morning lol. ive been doing the ivory and spiders with the school of dark arts bone quest from the mage up top.
spiders are just outside the dark school which makes it easier to get 2 quests done. decent run from the villiage to the place. : :(
I too have a DE fighter and I have to disagree that the quests are out of the question due to automated guests. I am not sure which server you are on, but on Sieghard, yes, DE town is covered in them (recent screenie shows 14 bots in DE town), but I can still solo the zombies and get the quest done without too many problems. There are a lot of zombies out there, and between killing those and the bats (good drops on those too), I make good money.

Do the zombie quest, the spore quest and the bones of the past quest at the same time. Buy a couple of scrolls of escape, get your newbie buffs, then run to the fields to the right just out of DE village and kill spores. Run just down the road to the swamps and do the zombie quest. When complete, run to the SoDA and do the bones quest. SoE back to town, turn in all the quests, sell off the excess drops (keep key mats till you can get to Giran and sell them off to other PCs = more $$), and I easily pull in 10-15k per run, and I can do a run solo in 45 minutes, even with all the automated guests. When you hit lvl 19 if you don't have enough cash, delevel back down to 16, lather rinse and repeat.
you can hunt green mobs. hont those that drops herbs, that will keep you going. yea, if you have low gear, you will have to rest sometimes. nothing to do about it.
if you wanna earn some money while hunting, use manor system. this will get you a lot of money if played right.

Nonsense, you can solo very well up to 40 and even beyond on a dark wiz and still make decent money.

In my day (sits in big comfy chair while cracking knees) there were NO Blessed shots. I used regular shots all the way until 40 and received a good deal of money just by leveling. I had to kill the mobs in 3 hits but at that time that was acceptable. I did a lot of leveling in the wastes. No bots there or very few. Even now.

I also made a dwarf artisan and made a decent amount selling D grade shots.
Never understood how can making money be hard now..
My low 30th rogue alt after a nigh duoing with SO were lkeaving catas with 300-700 multiply that by 500-800 will be 150-560k just worth of mats, add the sealstones on top (going for a massive price with aa 5a on averege) and the blanks and its easy.
Shure, with out a good wearpon you can't duo a cata room, but you can manor up on the ground for little less and save up for better wearpon..
if you have no gear, the best and easiest way to make fast money is to load up on seeds (from manor system) go into catas, find a room with bots, and seed all their mobs. turn off your shots and seed and hit their mobs. this way, you get a little XP (not very much at all but well...) and you will get MANY fruits VERY fast. sure, the bots may get angry and kill you, but usualy they dont. :) at lvl 40 doing this in branded, with those seeds that give enria, dunno what they are called anymore, but that will give you a feew millions for a feew hours of seeding. (about 1 mil adena / hour if i remember)
Right now im working on the spore's quest and the zombie quest. zombie one is taking about 10 to 35 mins to complete there are almost 60 bots out there now. the sweet venom quest gose fast outside of the SODA. the bone frag quest takes the longest, they just dont drop them for a level 28 dark wizard maybe lol. total time is almost around 50+ mins for 21k in adena. had a nasty bone quest one, last night took 1 hour and 10 mins to get all 10 bones. at level 28 there are no mats dropped havent seen any yet in the last 4 runs i did. all the monsters for the adena quests for me are dark blue :(. i guess ill just be patcient on this thing. it just the repeditive thing gets boring. When you mind has thoughts of playing pacman then maybe something is wrong lol j/k. :D

ill have to read up on that manor thing. i got this game off the web so not hand book :(. Thanks for the help its time for CSI

Oh yeah, thanks for bringing that up.

When I was level 19, my clan leader and I spent an entire satruday (really... an ENTIRE Saturday) doing the spore, zombie and Spider quest OVER and OVER.

This was the way the game used to be before manoring or fishing or buying and selling gear for profit.

The problem is that there is no one really to share this experience with you anymore. NC doesn't have a huge influx of players (though there is an influx) and they rush you through the first 20 levels.

God I miss Prelude-C2
I'm not a huge fan, but you could try to learn fishing. Get the cheapest pole and start with 100 beginner lures. Learn the first level fishing mastery, pump and reel. Use the ingame tutorial until you get the hang of it. Also look up fishing guide in Player Guides section here. In 3 hours of fishing I think I turned around 500K or so. Gotta go to Giran to sell the fish oils and bones and stuff.
awww..fishing...I hate it >.<
I must have worst luck when opening my fishes.. tok me 3 hours go get 4k PoCF (that at almost highest fishing skill)
I never get ne thing when I open my fishes :'(
I sold my pole, and promissed myself I will never ever buy a new one.
I think one problem is you maxed your fishing skill. Generally you should learn them incrimentally and not all at once. Start low and work up little by little. Even lvl 1 mastery can pull in alot of supplies. I agree though it can get really boring, but for a first time struggling player i'd rather be doing that than spore and spider quests for infinity.
Im not talking about catching fishes, im talking about when you DID catch 200 fish, and you start opening them and 40 of the 200 fishes actualy gives you something. I have heard people talk about 50% chanse to get stuff from a fish, but im absolutly sure its LESS then 20% for me. and i dont think its a fishing-skill-related-thingy.
ahhhh, I see. Well, i've been alot luckier than that, but even at 20% you should still be able to turn a profit. As boring as it is, you really can't lose money at it. To each his own though. :)
It is 50% over all, some fishes are higher, some lower. Each type of fish has its own conversion rate. You just got unlucky with the lure type and fish caught.
well..I will give the fishing one more try when the event starts...not thatI think ill get the biggest fish, but trying never hurts.
