The Fishermen’s Guild Members are looking for the top fishermen in the lands of Aden and Elmore. If you’re one of the best fishers, you might win fame and fortune!
Players of any level can participate, so grab your fishing pole beginning January 30 to take part in the Fishing King Championship Tournament. New to fishing? Now’s the time to learn the basics (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/fishing.html) and get out there!
To kick off the tournament, the winners for the first two weeks will win a special head accessory called Eva’s Mark.
Schedule and Ranking
The championship tournament is held on a weekly cycle. During the competition, players vie to catch the biggest fish. The results are ranked based on the size of the fish they caught, with the biggest fish determining the winner.
The top five fishers of the first week’s tournament will be determined on Monday, February 5. At that time, a new tournament begins for the second week of the event. Winners for that week will be determined on the following Monday, February 12. The tournament will continue to run weekly with winners determined every Monday.
The current status of the tournament can be viewed by clicking the Contest button in the Fishing window. The current results can also be viewed by speaking with a Fisherman’s Guild Member after the results of the first week have been calculated.
Catching the Big One
A big fish is measured by length only. Fish between 60.000 and 90.000 can be caught with any normal type of fishing lure, including Lure for Beginners. A Prize-Winning Fishing Lure increases your chances of catching an even larger fish.
If you catch a fish worthy of ranking in the tournament, a system message displays to let you know that you have been registered in the current ranking. If you are beaten later in the rankings, a system message will not display to inform you – so keep checking the current ranking list!
When more than one competitor has a winning fish that are all the same in size, the person who caught the first fish wins.
Claiming the Prize
Championship prizes are awarded by a Fisherman’s Guild Member, and you only have one week to claim your prize. The Fisherman’s Guild Member award a weekly prize of Adena based on ranking:

That is one way to read this, but 'winners' can mean 'all who win adena' so that would be ten folks total.
Of course, the 'biggest' thing you catch fishing isn't the fish, it is the mouthy 'caught xxxx' mob that taunts you as you run for your life. There should be a prize for the most-annoying mob reeled in.

What you are doing by givng out an exclusive item of this type is a slap in the face to every rper who plays this game, and anyone else who doesn't rp, but likes to see some semblance of lore within the game.
Either rename the item, remove it; there is no other option that can leave us happy.

nr1, its most likely you will have to fish with price-winner lures to win this (normal lures cant catch fishes abow 90.000, price-winnign lures can)
nr2, bits dont use price-winning lures.
nr3, Why would bots use those lures just to get this item? they cant make any money with it anyway (it cant sell/trade/drop)
im not talking about bots, Im talking about people running a third party program while going off to bed or to work because they are lazy to play the game how it should be played

This is an interesting perspective. While I enjoy the idea of a quest specific class related hair item, if only elven elders got it then everybody would complain. They would have to have one for each class, and that'S a lot of new hair items to design.
I think they are working with very tight parameters. I enjoyed the idea of giving an item to the winner each week, and I think they only announced 2 to make a "trial" run.
I would have really gone with a fishing item as a prize (like a FISHNG HAT) but hey. They give bracelets at poker tournaments...
I guess renaming the item could be done. But will they ? I doubt it. Not to accomodate roleplayers...

well for just an item to use urself its not very attaractive, give it something special for flavor, hell even if it was just increased breath gauge it would make it half *** intresting.
Have you ever thought that the fishermen's guild just decided to name it that because it seemed to fit? You fish in water... Eva is a water godess. The guild could've just as easily gone "oh, what the hell...lets name it the Mark of Einhasad". But that wouldn't have made much sense.
Ever stop to think that the fishermens guild pays their repect to Eva since she is the water goddess? No, of course not. Some RPers are more about the racial lore instead of the rest of it.

I honestly don't see a problem lore-wise - the mark could be a mark of all kinds of things.
Since you have absolute freedom to RP however you like, this might very well not be anything positive at all - maybe Eva doesn't like people yoinking Her fish?

Even though I am about the long run consequence of this event on inflation seeing as it is only adding adena but not adding materials to balance against that additional adena.
I'd more prefer to see them awarding something like A/S crystals or even A/S gems or jewlery recipes to the winners.

Yea, I pretty much guessed that the top length is probably 92.999 and basically to win just start fishing at the beginning of the weekly period and be the first person to top out. Game over, GG, see ya next week.
So 3 hours into a 166 hour event and someone already has 92.997. Well, at least I'm getting tons of POCF that I needed.
On my server if you don't have 92.9xx or above, you have nothing. I'm guessing 1st thru 5th will be all 92.999 fish.

5-6 hrs fishing is nothing.
those 5-6 hrs i mentioned was today and im still fishing
since this started i got least 2.5 days till now total fishing over 2k of lures nite and day together and somewhere close to 10k fishing ss so I DID fish
just cause one guy hit the jackpot in 6 casts does NOT mean that everyone will hit the jackpot on the 6th cast.

you dont just walk up to antharas and expect a lvl 1 windstrike to deal a magic crit worth 60m damage. nor SHULD you expect to catch the jackpot length in a day.

When one person holds more than 1 place on the top 5, they will 2 prizes. It's all about being on the top 5.
My biggest was 92.811 but it wasn't good enough for top 5 at the time I caught it. I give for now since it's just too monotonous. There should be a random 1/1 million chance of pulling up one of the epic bosses.

My wish is that Eva would extend her generosity as to giving out her mark passed the 2 week festival period. I mean 10 items across a server that you can't move, you just gotta keep doing this, because anyone with a fishing pole can get lucky and be blessed by Eva.
on my server the people that fished less per day had a better chance of getting in the top 5 then those who did fish all day. which stinks for the legit players that do have time to fish maybe 12-14 hours.

Could be. I fished for 4-5 hours a day (devianne) and got 2nd price. But i know from friends who have fished 6-8 hours a day and never even came close towards the 5th place.

Yes. You just throw your line in the water. In the fishing window, there is a new button... Click it, gives you real time standings on the top 5 in the competition.

Isn't there any way to give the Eva's Mark to another of my characters through freight service? Only one of my characters has learned the fishing skills so I used her to fish for the Tournament, but I want another character to have the accessory. :/
I have not received my Eva's Mark yet. What is the problem? I have checked warehouse, inventory and have spoken with fishermen about tournament prizes. And yes I have already claimed my prize money after the 2nd week tourny.
