Abduction

"Blak, honey, it's time to get up." Her mother whispers in her ear as she gently shakes her awake. "Come on honey, you are going to be late for work." "Unnn." "Fine then, if you won't wake up I guess i'll just tell the healer that you won't be in for work today, and she will have to find someone else." At the sound of those words Blak's head shot up out of her pillow. "I'm awake!" She shouted at her mother. As she tried to jump out of bed her feet got tangled in her sheets and she instead ended up in a heap on the floor of her room. "Let me just throw my robes on, and i'll be right over!" "Ok! But make it snappy, you know the healer doesn't like to be kept waiting." Blak grumbled something unintelligible under her breath as she was dressing. "Ok mom, im off to work!" "Bye hun!" Blak quickly ran to the healers house and then smoothed out her favorite set of robes, she had gotten them from her mother on her sixteenth birthday, she said they were called "Devotion" robes. After entering the small building and taking her daily orders from the healer she set to work.

A few minor injuries here, a broken leg there, soon her time was up. After she had said goodbye to the patients and the healer, she sauntered off towards home. Just after Blak's departure the healer seemed to speak to the air around her, "She has left, you may come out now." From a shadowy corner of the room, a Dark Elf seemed to materialize there and slowly walk over to the healer. He was wearing a very rare set of armor, it was fashioned out of draconic leather, a mixture of dragonhide and a dragon's scales. It was evident he was also a master hunter as he carried a finely crafted bow, also called a Draconic Bow, as it was made from the same materials as the armor he wore. "I believe I owe you an apology, she did come." "I told you she would." The healer glared at him as she finished tidying up. For some reason he always gave her the chills. "Was she wearing it?" "No, but she had it with her." "Again I thank you." He walked over to her a gave her a kiss on the cheek. She pulled back. "I suggest you leave." "Very well." He walked past her and out the door, but just before leaving he turned around. "Do you know the one thing I hate more than anything when I'm conducting... business?" She kept her back to him. "No, what is that?" "A witness." The arrow was so powerful at such close range it slid through her flesh and out through her chest, piercing her heart, even before she could think of defending herself. The killer turned around and chuckled softly to himself as he watched as Blak turned a corner at the far side of town. "And now for you..." Keeping to the shadows he used a stack of crates to get to the roof of the building, where he carefully followed his new prey.

As Blak turned the corner, she thought she saw someone standing outside the healer's house, watching her, but when she stepped back to look again they were gone. "I must be seeing things." She said to herself as she continued on her way. What she failed to notice was the figure from near the healer's house standing on the roof of the building behind her, nocking an arrow to his bow. As he pulled the drug-tipped arrow back to aim, he accidentally kicked a pebble from the roof over the edge and down to the the ground below. That small sound could barely be heard by anyone, yet to Blak, whom had grown up in a household where all the men were expert hunters, that tiny noise was like a giant warning bell going off in her head. She whipped around and noticed the figure, aiming at her and just as he fired, she ducked, but she wasn't quick enough. The drug-tipped arrow flew from the bow towards it's target, instead of piercing her leg where it was intended to go, it skinned her shoulder, but the arrow had done it's job, it had gotten the drug into her blood stream. Blak clapped a hand to her shoulder, to try and stop the bleeding, while casting a spell upon herself, to quickly heal the wound. Blak then stood up and ran, when she turned a corner she slipped and fell, and when she tried to push herself back up, she found her arms had decided to go to sleep. Slowly her whole body became numb. She started to slip into unconciousness, when she saw a pair of red and black boots walking towards her. The last thing she remembered before slipping away was being picked up and carried by these mysterious boots...
