it's like the "war on drugs." if there was no DEMAND for it there'd be massively fewer probably none at all. someone else said this game's setup (rare drops, high prices, grind) cause the bots to exist and i wholeheartedly agree. i simply think ppl just need to stop complaining and understand it for what it is.
in any population there are going to be those who don't want to play by the rules. i'm willing to bet that if NCSoft found a way to keep botters away (doubtful, likely impossible technically and financially) there'd be fewer players due to the tough grind that this game is sans cheats.
this game is difficult without cheating, hard to ignore that fact. some folks simply can't live with that and thus ebay. thoughts?
farmers/bots are good they lower prices which would be outragious without and everyone knows that bc of the low drop %
Actually, you are wrong in this. The drop rate is directly related to the number of items dropped and spoiled from mobs in the game. In order for NC to keep the economy growing at a steady rate, they have to lower the drop rate due to farmers and synchronized movement teams. These are the real culprits of the lowered drop rates.
If you hadn't noticed, when they did the mass ban some months ago, there was a period about 4 weeks later when the drop rates surged. In a two week period, I got 14 full drops, whereas I had gotten three in the previous year. Drop rates have steadily declined since the mass ban due to the influx, again, of farmers and botted accounts.
It is a semi-dynamic system in place to keep the pace of the economy at a specific rate which lends itself to the way l2 is set up. This rate is thus skewed by the farming community. NC does have to keep this system in place in order to not flood the economies of all servers, and stopping it from being similar to other games where you can have top gears in the game in a couple of months.
Please read up a little on dynamic systems. Especially those which deal with economics and how economies deal with inflation and growth. Thanks.
