I would like to ask if it's so difficult to create a Linux Client for Lineage II or at least give a hand to WineX developers to be able for us to play LineageII from our favorite OS..We have to get Windows just to play Lineage..That's so bad...Please,give us an answer..I know there are many ppl who want the same thing..
The current L2 client works just fine on Linux using Wine or its versions (no wonder - the engine it's based on is written to run on Linux). It would be useable, too, if GameGuard wouldn't prevent it from continuing to run.
Warfare engine is very variable in terms of running on multiple platforms. There is would be no problem running let's say Splinter Cells on linux from technology point of view. What prevents it, though, is some additional crap like copy protections and gameguard, and the fact that game developers would not spend resources to tweak game for platform like linux when there is not big potential market for it (a.k.a. "windows is everywhere and no common computer user uses linux because linux cannot be desktop replacement for windows" and all that crap.)
