How to loop in a macro?

Can a loop be put in a macro? If so, how?
No.
For the sanity of everyone in Giran... no, it can't be done. Don't bother trying to search the internet for it. Not at all.
the closest thing that you can do it the /delay command, but you will still have to hit the macro again after it has expired.
hmm you can loop a marco if you created 2 marco's
if you end your first marco to marco 2 in put it in (F12) and the second marco ends again with marco 1 (F11)
but for the sake why do you wanna have a looping marco??
i find personaly looping marco's already a little to much looking like machine work
also keep in mind marco's with this complex structure brake easy if it even works

I was thinking that too, I just haven't put it to test yet.

it would be good for recharges. maybe for heals or buffs that run off, or for a Two box dancer. IE: your a Archer, use your BD as a box.
once again you cant do that
if you try to put a macro within a macro the macro wont work at all
Check link above in my post... that's what happens when you try to call a macro from a macro.
It's sad. FYI, the reason I would like to do this is because auto-follow "breaks" so blooming often. I'm running along in a group with my buff-bot, and I have to check every few seconds on the buffer, because often it will follow for a few seconds, then stop (repeat cycle over and over). I wish NC would put forth the effort to make autofollow work reliably. Well, let me ask the more pertinent question, does anybody have any suggestions to make autofollow work better?

nope
thats what seperates us legit boxers from the duel botters
maily i find its certain areas that break auto follow and the only solution i have is to either watch the buffer or have it in party and watch the green dot on the radar
I never thought of it that way, but you seem to be tight about certain areas. My destro/WC combo seems to work pretty well in Outlaw Forest. But just try making a run from Giran to Martys. It's very frustrating. Oh well.
Long distance running seems to be a much bigger problem than grinding in the same spot - while running, due to some sort of synchronity issues, the box may lose target ... simply watch it, it ain't that difficult. :/
The problem lies in your computer, if you dualbox one one comp, the client you don't have active get less CPU time and lag behind, when it's so behind the client decide to ask the server to 're-get' all data around him and where the char is, basically you get ported out for a second and ported in, this is what breaks the AF.

Solution? Well don't move around to much, if you play within the same small area you will never have a problem but walk around everywhere, it will happen sooner or later.
Even if you dual box on two computers it happens, like if I have my SE on AF on me in ivory tower, he always always always loses target halfway across the bridge.
I find that having the slower character lead helps tremendously (but of course not everyone can 'lead' with their two-box), and failing that, waiting for them to catch up during long stretches.

But it can't stop it completely. :/

Ditto. Seems to consistently happen to me at lag spots. Always the same lag spots.
Yeah, it's areas where it needs to spend a lot of time loading or unloading terrain. They can stall the client long enough that you fade out and fade back in.
just hold the f {key} Down, Jam it lol

just hold the f {key} Down, Jam it lol

wont work
that will just repeat the first action in the macro
For me at least, the autofollow works much better when I run both clients in fullscreen instead of windowed mode.

Really? It won't work you say? Then how does my friend manage to pull off this macro:
1: /target (insert name of low level mob in starter villages here)
2: /pickup

He uses tape to keep the Fkey pressed, and it works just fine, although he sometimes gets stuck behind trees, rocks, etc.

not sure what that macro is designed for but if its made to run to a mob and pick up it would work
if you are directly next to a target and you /target it it goes to the next command

try this one
this is macro line 1
this is macro line 2
this is macro line 3
That macro allows him to kill mobs while being AFK. That's the purpose of that macro.

if you think a macro with
/target
/pickup
will let someone kill by being afk ure dumb mate ^^
if ure friend says he does that he is lieing to u and is prob. using a botprogram.
u cant do an ingame macro in l2 that will alow u to go afk of 2 reasons.
1. u cant link a macro to a macro, ie it will stop after last command line.
1. if u "jam" the button for the macro it will only start it over and over all the time from commandline 1.
No, he is not using a bot program. I have seen him tape down the Fkey.

And has anyone even tried this macro before saying that it won't work?
Wasn't he using some Logitech G15 or Nostromo or some other programmable keboard or keypad?
Nope, just a standard keyboard and mouse. I doubt he's even heard of those special mouses (or is it mice?).

meese
lol started a new char for testing..

and then i put a cup on the F10 key ; and sure enough i was hunting gremlins none stop with out doing anything.

Thank you for testing it and proving that it works.
I have heard.. that doing this can get you PERMA BANNED!!! So becareful.

The 'Tape' or 'Cup' is a 3rd party program :o

If you afk and do not notice a gm saying Hi - then bam PERMA BANNN!!

...but thats only what i think i can recall....

lol snap
and yeah its banable
How so? Macro's are a built-in feature of the game, nor has the tape modified the client.

If your toon is performing actions, you *must* be at keyboard.
How are the GMs supposed to know what is automating your gameplay? I doubt the excuse that it was the tape/cup/kitten that did it, would save you from a ban due to being away from keyboard while your character was active ingame. They have to draw the line somewhere.
especially since that macro won't self loop.

So if i did this and was sitting watching the moniter; would that be a banneble offence?
Or if i keep the F10 key pressed by my finger is that banneble?
I usally put a cup/something on the recharge button on my SE to recharge my artisan while i craft; is that banneble?
Anyone know were the line goes?

if your toon is doing something and you dont reply you can get banned
obviously that doesnt apply to the 9 line macro stuff you can do while afk

The line is at common sense. If you get a GM petition and you are not able to answer but your toon is still performing actions, you will get banned. What is so difficult about this?
You must be at your keyboard while playing Lineage II. If your character is performing actions and you are questioned by a GM, you should answer.

If anyone has more questions about this, please use the "Ask a Question" link in the Support Center (http://www.plaync.com/us/support/prod_10.html) to contact the GM team. Thanks!
I would hope the GMs apply some reasoning to the "doing something". I run 3 clients regularly on 2 computers and sometimes in a pinch I run all 3 on one computer. At any given point in time I only see the screens for 1 or 2 of the 3 clients.

If I am running from place to place I use auto-follow [i.e. an in-game macro: /target name, /target name] so one of the characters is running after me, but I can't see that character's screen.

Similarly I use in-game macros to buff, heal, and recharge MP with delays [i.e. /target name, /useskill recharge, /delay 10, /useskill recharge, etc]. This macro can go on for a long time while I am switched over to another client and unable to see the screen of the character performing the heal or recharge.

How will the GM respond to this situation? I would hope they would make themselves known by interrupting the actions of the character, opening up a GM chat window, and seeing if the actions resume without responding to the chat window giving those of us that use in-game macros and N-box a chance to respond. If they just open up a chat window and wait for a response I would never know about it and the recharges could continue for several minutes with long enough delays between each one. Is that a bannable offense? Yikes

Like I said, common sense. If you are on AF, you are not "doing something." I play 3 clients on one computer most of the time. Never had an issue except some morons accusing me of botting...
Just make sure you are at the PC to see if anyone pms you at anytime. So, if you use the macro trick, as long as you are there, its ok. Macros are in game features and arent bannable feature. Only being afk (performing actions that obviously require more than a macro) and using a program that has to decode the L2 program in order to work, are bannable. Use up the macro trick, just dont leave the keyboard. And if you are running 2 characters on the same PC that are performing actions, I'd suggest you check the 2 box every so often. Also, usually the GM will teleport straight to you if you are being accused of botting. He/She isn't going to ban your account without seeing it for him/herself. So, if a GM suddenly is around you and your automated 2 box, i'd be thinking up an explaination real quick :)

Yeah usually if you run by him and his confused little gaggle of friends at WoA he says hi. That tells me he is there. I think the same rules apply, I have actually gotten pm's on my buffer and not checked them for 5-10 minutes. Usually when you tell them you were fighting or this is just a buffer they are good about it. I would assume a GM would react the same way as a player in that instance.

The only time I have ever gotten a message from a GM a window did pop open, at the time my Dad and I had been at the same place for hours upon hours. We were unclanned and not talking. Of course we wouldn't talk in game since he sits 4 feet from me in the den. GM was actually pretty cool about it. But like I said, that was in C1. Since C4 and the lack of active participating GM's answering petitions, well only 1 of the 3 I have gotten obviously had english as his primary language. And even then he didn't seem to want bothered.

Its not difficult its just that i dont see the real diffrence between this and letting a program run the char for you, and you are watching the computer.
And i thought this was bordering to a exploit.
Keep system voice on, on your 2box's client, so you can hear if a GM has contacted you. At least I think that would work. Like when they have answered a petition you've sent.

Still you'd think that A-graders would be familiar enough with the official client to know that my little party isn't botting. Watching me for less than 10 seconds would tell you that I'm not doing anything even remotely botlike.
Why would you think that? A lot of A-graders just started playing L2, having purchased the account from Ebay or some such.

I was being sarcastic.
