The Lineage II Stratics is in the process of expanding and is in need of more staff in various areas, and this is where you come in.
We are in need of the following:
News Reporters
- A competent writer and fluent in english
- Familiar with basic HTML
- Willing to spend time doing at least 3+ news stories per week
Artists
- Good at making icons, custom art, screenshot manipulation and willing to help upgrade the sites tool graphic-wise
Programmer
- Know SQL, know PHP ver. 5.x, familiarity with design patterns like MVC and ability to quote Animal Farm, Mel Gibson and Communist Manifesto a plus.
Content Editor
- Familiar with basic HTML.
- Interest in the Lore and Background of the game
- Interest in the inner workings of the game (skills, armors, weapons, etc.)
You need to be pro-active and a team player. These are all volunteer positions, but you will get the joy of working with a great team and contributing to the biggest content site in the west.
@Darkmotion: Well, I am willing to pay you twice my pay, which gets you 2x0 dollars = 0 dollars. :p Its all volunteer service and we do it out of love for the game and community. Right now what we need the most are news reporters.
I agree. Ok, since this is a volunteer thing, I guess it's open source. In case you don't know what open source is, it means that everything developped is public, so the community can create knowing how the system works.
Ok, here is my idea to contribute to Stratics, one of my favorite sites for L2 knowledge :

I'd be really hard pressed to find 3 news stories per week. For example, the only newsworthy items from last week I know enough about to write would be the break-up between the Abyss alliance and the Exile uber-alliance and a recapitulation of the sieges; both on Teon. During the non-siege week, there's usually even less stuff to write about.
To clarify, this doesn't mean you have a deadline of 3 or something, it simply means that you would have the time and be willing to do at least 3 if they were available.
This is for general news, so its news from here (events and other major happenings, not including servernews yet), major news from other L2 sites (like l2warfare, l2 vault, warcry, etc.) and our own news, like whenever a new feature is introduced or new quest guide is put up.
You should also be willing to spend a little time "touching up" the news and making the news entries better looking and if possible with graphical images. (the reasonj why the news is rather plain atm, is because I am doing it and I have a million other things to do at the same time)
That being said, its the easiest position up there, much easier than Content Editor position. It is also the only position tree that lacks a senior staffer, so there's even advancement oppertunities. (and yes, there's a need for one should we ever expand the news to include server specific news)
