Ok, so its beyond me how a lvl 4 clan with 6 members could become in control of Giran, but they did.
Anyway they raised taxes and now noone wants to make shots anymore cause ppl complain about their prices.
There are 2 ways the deal with this problem.
1) People learn that supply and demand means that when mats go up and taxes go up, demand is more than the supply so you will be paying more, stop whining.
2) Everyone just KOS OneGirlArmy until there members quit and they cant defend next castle siege.
Personally i like option 1, but 90% of people i meet in the game are immature and dont understand what "stop whining" means.
So KOS it is.

You do realize that OneGirlArmy is an alt clan don't you?
It is much more beneficial for the castle sieging alliance to use alt clans to sign up for multiple sieges. That way their opponents never know where the attackers are gonna show up. As the castle in as of itself does not provide any type of benefit in regards to gameplay, its just as easy to use an alt clan to reap the monetary rewards.
The question you should be asking is, "Who does OneGirlArmy belong to?"

2) i never said i wanted to KoS them, i said that people need to learn to be more mature and deal with raising prices, but they all whine when you raise shot prices even 1a

i have seen many people in Giran yelling about how they want to KoS them and such, so i thought i'd see what people here had to say
i don't believe in KoS no matter what the person/s have done to me, i was more asking what everyone else thought, but everybody is taking that as i want to kill people for no reason
What I find interesting is no other Cities are really capitalizing on this. Oren did briefly, by lowering their taxes to 5% but by up-ing it now to 10% they Mirror Giran's prices, which means it's rather pointless for crafters to head over there (if they are stationed in giran or dion) I only spent around 30M in Oren while they were at 5 .. but still part of my taxes were heading to them.... A interesting thing to note here, On the lowest SS (D) every <click> of my mouse generates no less then 78Adena in taxes @ 5% .. imagine ... ALL the other crafters out there doing various shots .. hmmm..
I mean what does Giran pull in a week...? Underpop server's usually were gaining around 50M per week from taxes when giran was at 5-7% so you'd think Bartz-Giran 150+ maybe .. (i am guessing here) I know I can contribute as much as 2M in taxes alone per day to one city, and I am just one lowly sub 52 crafter. (once i get up to where my other crafters are on other servers that can rise to 5-10 easily enough on a good day)
Dion is out really as is gludio (i think .. Since they have a higher "base" start rate.. They could do it but it would be next to nothing rate i think) Oren, Aden (heh if they really want to get greedy!) What other Castles? Another idea .. If castle owners wanted to be nice here and there ... Offer a advertised free day once a month... But if your going to do that, please advertise it .. so word gets around, or Only a select few ever benifit by it. (i believe aden owners did this awhile back? for a wee bit?)
I'd like to know how much revenue Oren was generating once all us crafters caught on to go there. Hmm.. anyway, There is no excuse for a 15% tax in Giran, Perhaps it's UR's way of saying don't like it come change it. (dunno) Either way It doesnt matter what the tax rate is there .. some things you just have to bite the bullet and buy from giran regardless.
As to people complaining to the crafters... If people would do the math they'd see that dedicated ones barely make anything for the time they spend at it feeding the server what they can. <shrug> WOULD be real nice if NCsoft would give Crafters that trade skill .... some friggin day then we could bypass some of these taxes atleast at higher levels... I believe the first trade skill was supposed to kick in some where in the 40s( could have been 52 tho .. my memory is shakey)
Theyre all a bunch of cheating no good cheaters! KOS them all! In fact KOS their family, their friends, their pets and even their future children and their children and so on.
While i have no opinion on the topic of KOS any castle owners, the OP did Bring up the fact that Giran is taxing higher now which leads to a possible advantage other Castle owners can use to help increase their revenue and as a sideline benefit garner some loyalties with the crafting community.
Castle owners are free to set rates as they like, I just can't quite understand why some of them are not capitolizing upon Giran's heavy handedness. It's a prime oportunity for them from a economic standpoint to funnel some of the tax revenue that Giran normally enjoys their way...
Just doesnt make sense their not doing it. They can't ever hope to compare Revenue wise with Aden or Giran unless they can entice the crafters to start purchasing ore from them This is a huge revenue source not some small pittance. Granted, Upper D stuff > to c grade is totally Giran oriented but Ore doesnt have to be when they have taxes of 15% Other Castles can compete with them for our ore purchases and low-cost d crystals.

We are half way thru the day and I've spent 14M in Giran... they have now pocketed 2.1M in taxes of me alone. (i know it doesn't quit work out to that but im generalizing to give a picture) While another castle at 5% would only pocket about 300k of that (it wasnt all ore and D Cry, after all bought some weapons to dual and crush to c) that adds up .. and adds up fast when you have a entire server of crafters buying from YOUR NPC shops.
KOS their botting ebaying [censored] and run them off the server. If they played legit they'd lower the **** taxes so the other legit players can afford their **** charms of courage.

This thread appears to be the perfect venue to voice my opinons... on the current taxes of Giran. I'd do that on blah but sadly ... Mod's are not quite as impartial as they need to be there.
according to tax info it's XxReDCoRaLxX and yeah some of the manor systems are severely lacking lol... but that's just the castle owners shooting themselves in the foot. Giran is good at not doing that (in regards to the manor)
But everyone needs to realize you can't compete with giran when they are on their game (tax wise) .. at times like this when they are not on the ball .. you can compete with them and start taking some of that lucrative tax revenue for your own Guilds/Alliance.

Innadril is (if I remember rightly) one of the castles that could stand to benifit by higher taxes in giran, since (again if I remember it right) they do start with a lower base rate.
I seem to recall a point in time where Innadril was able to sell C
gems cheaper then Giran. BUT I don't have all my facts right here Ill be able to check all the base rates when the pts is up and see which cities have the best potential to steal tax revenues from giran. :)

I kinda wish I knew why the owners changed the taxes in giran tho.. I mean you look at their 7% (that they were at) and go hmm its higher then what some might like but it's just low enough that basically trying to compete with them is more headache then it's worth. They knew what they were doing there. Raising it upwards they have to know it's a risk ... calculated or otherwise.
True but this game is all about risk taking. The raising of the taxes though was definately a teaser, considering theres probably a lot of poeple who weren't really paying attention to the taxes and assumed it was still 7% and bought things lol oh well :/

lol I am always caught by surprise, the day the raised their taxes I was trying to figure out why the heck I sold out over 25000 dcrystals during the night. (i put them out 3-10 adena over cost just because I always have lots) I just shook my head when I headed over to giran.
Even more priceless .. I racked my brain trying to figure out how the heck what's his name was selling ccry in giran for 2850 after countless hours rehashing numbers I could not figure it out. Many weeks later I found out Aden gave a lil bonus and dropped their taxes for a bit.. Hardly any of us noticed.. as you don't expect that from Aden.
