I created a clan and leveled it to 2 last night. I could make it three on my own as well but I noticed the higher you go the more SP it costs to level the clan. What I want to know is... can members donate SP to the clan or me? I don't see myself having 1.5kk SP freely available sometime soon :)
You can either grind out the SP yourself, because others can not donate their SP directly or you can purchase SP scrolls. Speaking from our end, we had a high level character w/ lots of SP create the clan and then when it hit level 5, he transfered leadership over to another member for the admin purposes.
Others buy the sp scrolls and apply them to the leader.
The main people joining the clan would be people I know personally and can trust. So theoretically I could transfer leadership temporarily so they can donate SP?
SP scrolls aren't worth it either, it's 500k aa for 100k sp. On more servers that works out to anywhere from 1 mill adena to up to 2 mill per 100,000 sp.
Yes, you can add someone to the clan, make them clanleader, have them level up the clan, then have them transfer leadersship back (remember you have to do quests for level 4 and level 5 clan)
Also the best way to get SP to level a clan is to do the Lizardmen’s Conspiracy quest. The reward is 42,000 SP - and it does work if the mobs are dark blue to you and added bonus it is repeatable. Honestly, that is how I have leveled up a clan to level 3 and beyond. If the toon is high enough level, grab a pole and bring a healer/buffer - then pull the entire area and whack away with your pole. The quest only takes about 20mins if you do it that way. Granted it is boring as all heck, but it is a cheep way to get SP.
